pamsumitup

Sum it up Sunday is a feature post we are going to trial for the closing Sundays of each month. In these posts we’ll detail various things that have excited or upset us over that month.
If you’d like to join us in our summing up, please feel free! Just please, provide a link back to our blog. Thank you.

Ms4Tune: Oow I had one 5 Voodoo rating this month so my fav this month is Wild Swan by Jessica Spotwood.

What was your least favourite book this month?

Paein: I haven’t read much this month, my least favourite by rating is a novella belonging to The Wrath and the Dawn series – The Mirror and the Maze, mainly because it was mostly about the city and I wanted to know about the people.

The mirror and the mazer

Ms4Tune: I have 2 books that fall into least favourite this month. 1. Temptation by Selene Kitt (because of a rather nasty surprise ending) and 2. Hollow City by Ransom Riggs (because I’m still not 100% sold on the storyline but I’ve started so I’ll finish).

How are your challenges going?

Paein:
I have no idea, I really need to get on top of this and write my books up. I’ll do better next month I promise! Does The Wrath and the Dawn count as a completed series? I’m going with it.

Ms4Tune:
The Popsugar Challenge – Almost forgot to fit any of these in this month – but last minute I managed to get another 3 under my belt. That’s 19/40 now. Almost half way people!
The Series Completion Challenge – So, no series finished this month. I had to return the last of Miss Peregrine’s series to the library before I had a chance to read it but I’ve reserved it again and aim to read it soon. I’m also still waiting for my copies of Last Star and Warrior Witch to turn up :( – but once they do… its game on!

Anything you’re going to try and do more of next month?

Paein:
Everything I’ve previously mentioned.
Read.
Clear my Netgalley list.
Organise.
WRITE DOWN MY CHALLENGE PROGRESS!
hopefully this is the end of the dodgy months.

Ms4Tune:
1. Finish at least 5 Netgalley Books for review.
2. Get to 25 on the Popsugar Challenge.
3. Finish another Series.

Did you complete this month’s targets?

Paein: Well, I have read, though not as much as I’d have liked. I think it’s more than I thought though, because via the goodreads count I’m only 8 ahead now instead of 10. Though some of what I’ve read this month was tiny novellas and short books.

Ms4Tune: 1. Right I really need to get some library books off my shelves and back to the library. The pile is getting a little ridiculous. So I returned 6 library books this month… shame 3 of them I hadn’t read! But at least the pile is now manageable.
2. I want to continue finishing some series now that I’ve started!Well failed that one but at least I have plans to finish a few next month.
3. And I would like to read some adult fiction.3 of the books I read this month were adult books. The End of the World Running Club, Temptation and The Testament of Mary. Quite happy with that and it makes the YA books I do read seem better.
4. I’d love to be over half way through my Popsugar challengeAlmost made it, just one short. Will definitely be over half way by the end of next month though.

Any rants or raves?
Anything to boast about?

Paein: Actually I don’t even believe it’s the end of May. I haven’t been paying attention this month. Though, I do like this monthly round up thing! It’s helping me define time better.

Ms4Tune: Illumicrate was amazing! That is all :)
Ooow actually, I may not have finished any Book Series but I did finished a few TV series’ that are based on books, does that count?
I finished series 2 of Home Fires (an ITV series based on Jambusters by Julie Summers), The Durrells (an ITV series based on Gerald Durrell’s stories) and Game of Thrones Series 1 and 2, I feel this is something worth celebrating.
