Sum It Up Sunday: June 2016

Sum it up Sunday is a feature post we are going to trial for the closing Sundays of each month. In these posts we’ll detail various things that have excited or upset us over that month. If you’d like to join us in our summing up, please feel free! Just please, provide a link back to our blog. Thank you.

What are you reading right now?

Paein: I’ve been reading through free kindle books on my app to clear out my collection some and some are so short I find myself between books.

What was your least favourite book this month?

Paein: Withering Rose by Kaitlyn Davis. Loved the story, found the writing so annoying.

Ms4Tune: Delicate Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan. I didn’t even finish this one. I thought it was terrible.

What do you want to read next?

I wanted to clear some more kindle books, but they’re a bit samey. I should read some review books but I really want to read The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare!

city of bones

Chaos Rises by Pippa DeCosta. I find her books very hit and miss but fingers crossed I will like this one.

How are your challenges going?

Ohh I think I’ve read some more of these! Not many though. Need to get to it this month. I hope read many series over the summer.

Ms4Tune: Since I set my targets to include these they’re actually going really well!

Anything you’re going to try and do more of next month?

I’ve started a bullet journal to try and keep myself more organised, so I want to use part of that for my part in blogging and social media. I also want to make a start of some of the big series I want to get  read up on this year! I also really need to read the review books sitting on my netgalley list, I’ve just lost all will to do so ) :

I did so well this month I’m going to try again:
1. Finish at least 5 Netgalley Books for review.
2. Get to 25 on the Popsugar Challenge: That will get me to
3 per month for the rest of the year! 3. Finish another Series.

Did you complete this month’s targets?

Paein: Well, I started the month off great! I went all the way back to march in the comments and replied!! I’m sorry if I didn’t go back far enough or I missed any comments! Comment again and I’ll reply! I hope…I’ve also managed to keep it up some, though I’m failing a little this past week, but I’ve had extra things to fill my time and I hope to sort that out today. Everything else? Not so much…

Ms4Tune: Feeling rather chuffed with myself this month! 1. Finish at least 5 Netgalley Books for review. 5 out of 5!

2. Get to 25 on the Popsugar Challenge. Almost made it with 24/40

Any rants or raves? Anything to boast about?

Paein: We went crazy with book boxes. And I mean we, because Ms4Tune started it! Also, gave ShadowHunters another shot because I saw a meme on pinterest. It got better…
Also, had some authors get in touch about some reviews so that was pretty exciting too!

Ms4Tune: FAIRY LOOT BOX!! It should be winging its way to me mid July and I’m sooo excited! (Also don’t listen to Paein – she’s trying to pass on her half of the blame, she got just as excited with all the signing up!)

Also I was contacted by Lauren Bird Horowitz’s advertiser who wanted to quote my review of Shattered Blue on her website! Really exciting!
