Sum it up Sunday – July 2016

Sum it up Sunday is a feature post we are going to trial for the closing Sundays of each month. In these posts we’ll detail various things that have excited or upset us over that month.
If you’d like to join us in our summing up, please feel free! Just please, provide a link back to our blog. Thank you.

What are you reading right now?

Paein: I’ve assessed the time I have available over the summer and I’ve decided that dammat, I’m reading City of Bones! by Cassandra Clare

Ms4Tune: Still really good but it came up against too many awesome books – Assassin’s Game by Kirsty McKay (Seriously it was really good – I had 5 4 Voodoo books and a 5 Voodoo book this month it was hard to pick a least favourite).

Assassin's Game

What do you want to read next?

Paein: Well I’ve just started a series, so book 2? Haha, I’ve just recieved a copy of Stealing Snow, so that’s one I’m looking forward to!

Ms4Tune: Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard I think or maybe Ghostly Echoes by William Ritter

What books are you hoping to collect next month?

Paein: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J K Rowling is the only one on my pre-order list this month, though I might cancel it as it might just be in one of my august boxes…I’ve cut down on pre-orders ( a challenge I’ve stuck to yay!) and I don’t really search for new-release books as I’m attempting to work through some I currently already have!

Ms4Tune: Kingdom of Ash and Briars by Hannah West
and I’m also expecting two book boxes so I’m really excited about that!

How are your challenges going?

Paein: er…My unofficial kindle clear out one is going well! And I’m reading a series right now!
I’m 19 out of 40 for pop sugar which is better than I thought to be honest, but not great.

Ms4Tune: I’m on target for my Popsugar Challenge and I’ve read a few more series so I’m happy.

Anything you’re going to try and do more of next month?

Paein: Work on my challenges, and clear my netgalley list. Some I’m reluctant to read and I’m wondering if it’s time to just mark them as not for me

Ms4Tune: 1. Finish 3 Netgalley Books for review
2. Get to 28 on the Popsugar Challenge
3. Finish another Series.

Did you complete this month’s targets?

Paein: I’ve been tracking my social media/blog stuff in my bullet journal and My instagramming has been more consistant, and I checked comments twice! Month started off really well, but it’s sort of tailed off. Time to try again. And again. Until it becomes habbit!
I’ve started on Mortal Instruments so that’s a yes.
I read and reviewed 1 book on my netgalley list! But I requested 3 more…actually, make that 4…

Ms4Tune: 1. Finish at least 5 Netgalley Books for review – Ugh I only managed 3 this month. It’s been a really slow month.
2. Get to 25 on the Popsugar Challenge: I did make 25 but not with the book I aimed to read. Still happy though
3. Finish another Series: I managed to finish Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children. Great ending!

Any rants or raves?
Anything to boast about?

Paein: I had a birthday and I got books! So excited! Also book boxes!! So many book boxes! Hopefully get them up for next Sunday.

Ms4Tune: I had another featured review on Netgalley.
And we got nominated for the Happiness Tag :) We really appreciate that. Thank you so much!
