It’s time for Musing Mondays, a meme from The Purple Booker!
Please note that Musing Monday has moved from Books and a Beat.
Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer and then supplies a random question:
- I’m currently reading…
- Up next I think I’ll read…
- I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
- I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
- I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
- I can’t wait to get a copy of…
- I wish I could read ___, but…
- I blogged about ____ this past week…
I wish I could read The Savage Dawn right now, but it’s not released till July Next year!
So I’ve been trying to do more stuff on instagram so I joined the #decbookstagram tag set up by @readwithmikee and @pagewithaview. I missed the last few days due to Christmas preparations and other stuff but I’m still really enjoying it. Anyway, one of the picture prompts was Character with cool names, and I to take this photo:
Because Melissa Grey’s characters all had amazing names… Echo, Caius, Jasper, Dorian, Ivy etc and it reminded me of how awesome this series was so far and now I want to read the next part. Why’s it not July yet?
THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: Does reading help you to release stress during stressful times? Do you have a favorite book that you return to for calm?
Firstly, hello to Ambrosia the new host of Musing Monday, I’m very excited to see what questions you will throw at us in the future! And secondly I’d like to thank Jenn for running Musing Monday’s for all these years, it’s been great fun and I’ve enjoyed participating. It’s sad to see you stop but I’m sure we’ll see you around…
And now on to the question… Yes I do use reading as a stress release… Sometimes all I want is to escape the hectic atmosphere of reallife and delve into a different world but I don’t really have a favourite book that I return to. I generally want to read something new something that will need my full attention.
OO First time by and already another book I want to add to my TBR, looks fantastic. I completely agree with you on wanting to make sure that the book holds your full attention. When I was crocheting one day while having Kindle read to me, I looked down to see I hadn’t done a stitch of crochet for over an hour. I was enjoying the book to much. Thank you for the warm welcome
You definitely should! Girl at Midnight is like a quirky hybrid between Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor and The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. It’s really entertaining.
Awww that’s totally the kind of book I need! What were you listening too? x
I agree with your reply! Here is my MM: http://shoshireads.weebly.com/home/musing-its-monday-what-are-you-reading
That’s a great photo in my opinion. I am not good at staging book photos, I just don’t have the knack for it.
I talked about how I read to relieve stress: http://twobirds1blog.blogspot.ca/2016/12/blogmas-2016-day-12-musing-monday-debut.html
