Sum It Up – December 2016

pamsumitup

This is usually our Sunday feature post but for this month only is being featured on a Saturday!
(You will understand why if you come back tomorrow)

Sum it up is a feature post we have been doing on the closing Sunday of each month. In these posts we’ve detailed various things that have excited or upset us over that month.
If you’d like to join us in our summing up, please feel free! Just please, provide a link back to our blog. Thank you.

What are you reading right now?

Paein: The Forgetting by Sharon Cameron, (I finished Shadow and Bone, YAY!)

Ms4Tune: Heartless by Marissa Meyer

What was your favourite book this month?

Paein: The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black – does that count even though it’s a re-read? Cause it’s true!

the coldest girl in coldtown

Ms4Tune:  Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery – really loved this festive story.Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery

What was your least favourite book this month?

Paein: Bah, Humbug! by Heather Horrocks

bah humbug

Ms4Tune: Drip Drop Teardrop by Samantha Young

Drip Drop Teardrop

What do you want to read next?

Paein:I’d like to read a book box book, but I’ve sort of committed to finishing The Grisha so, Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

siege and storm

Ms4Tune: I’m not sure. Maybe Caraval by Stephanie Garber or Freeks by Amanda Hocking

Caraval Freeks

What books are you hoping to collect next month?

Paein: Windwitch by Susan Dennard Also Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth, but that could be a book box book so I’ve not ordered it.

 wind witch carve the mark

Ms4Tune: I haven’t actually ordered anything but Long Way Home by Katie McGarry is out in January and I’ve loved the series so far, so maybe…

long way home

How are your challenges going?

Paein: Better than last month, mostly by accident I think. I’ve not ‘passed’ any though. I’ve got a day next week I’m hoping to use for blog related things and I’ll update then. The unofficial challenge of kindle clearing out has gone fantastically! Cleared out a load I don’t want to read (doing that again) read a few and got rid of those too! I finished a few series, but no way near as many as I’d hoped so that’s another carry-over challenge. I also haven’t been able to complete my goodreads goal which was actually a low one this year! ( I may move the benchmark on this one..)

Ms4Tune: I failed them all… again. I really need to be more focused in reading challenges.

Anything you’re going to try and do more of next month?

Paein: Stop worrying about posts and just read. It’s becoming a chore and that’s bad.

Ms4Tune: Set more achievable goals and just read.
I’d like to try and get through some of my books that have sat around for ages or even some kindle books. I’ve got so many.

Did you complete this month’s targets?

Paein: No. I  have not read a book box book. Ugh. Definitely next month!! I hope

Ms4Tune: Nope I didn’t even finish the books I thought I should finish this month. Oh well.

Any rants or raves?
Anything to boast about?

Paein: It’s sad news I have – Nerdy Bookworm Box has been suspended indefinitely! A suggestion was given for a replacement I’d not heard of and while I feel it may be more of a Ms4Tune type box with regards to they books it has, I’ve signed up for January’s box to see what I think! They’re called Book Box Club and I love that it seems to be like an online book club – a feature of Nerdy Bookworm box I was looking forward to trying out in January.

Ms4Tune: Melissa Grey liked my photo that I shared on Instagram of her books The Girl at Midnight and The Shadow Hour… that was exciting. Picture can be found on my instagram account HERE.

I hope that someday comes quickly! haha

I hope I will too, but I spent so long in the middle of the first book, not reading it that I have forgotten how I was enjoying it. Hopefully I can get that back in book 2!

      Thank you for stopping by!
