This is an UN-BOXING post.

Thank you!

With the loss of My Bookish Crate I needed another book box to fill the gap. As one of those recommended, I thought I’d try out Book Box Club. Book Box Club is a monthly book subscription box based in the up. It costs £27.99 (ex P&P for international orders so far as I can tell.)

“Every month our members receive:
- A specially selected, hot-off-the-press YA book release. We’ve read it, loved it, gift-wrapped it, and we can’t wait to talk to you about it.
- 2-4 hand-picked goodies, created by crafty types.
- An invitation to our members-only online book group where you can chat to other members and to our featured author.”

January was the  Immortal Stories Box. In this box we got:

1. Ink by Alice Broadway, accompanied by an author Q&A; card &  signed bookplate;
2. A collection of (con)temporary tattoos by U Studio , in honour of the theme of the featured book;
3. A tiny potion bottle of Immortalitea – an orange spiced yummy black tea created by Spice Kitchen UK ;
4. An exclusive ‘Unashamedly Bookish’ mug, designed by Book Box Club;
5. A Wrath and the Dawn quote sticker created by -Chelley Reads ;
6. A reading resolutions card by Book Box Club.
7. Bookish goodies including samplers of new books from Juno Dawson and Emily Barr and a pretty postcard from Hot Key Books, Usborne and Penguin Random House.

My thoughts:

I wasn’t sure this box was going to be my sort of box. It seems to have more of a contemporary feel than the ones I’ve enjoyed before. Still, for the sake of research, I signed up for the January box. Which was just the right box for me to sign up to!

Ink sounds fascinating and I’m looking forward to reading it, though I’m really not sure about the book samples, but I’ll give them a look.

My ultimate favourite item that just surpasses everything else is the sticker. The THE WRATH AND THE DAWN sticker! Finally! something themed for this duology! I love it! The tea is also pretty adorable, I haven’t yet tried it though. It’s sitting in the mug with my book club invite and a whole bunch of tombows.

Which leads nicely into why I chose to sign up for this box, it’s book club. I never got to try the quests for the My Bookish Crate books because I never read the books in that month and I regretted it. I hope to read this book in time to try the group conversation just to see. Here’s hoping I’ll read the book in time!
