1 Daughter of Smoke and Bone – LESS

by Laini Taylor

Actually, I quite enjoyed this book, I gave it 5 stars. Technically it’s what happens between this and the second book, Days of Blood and Starlight that I didn’t like. The end of this and the start of that. I felt it was unreasonable and I really disagreed and I stopped reading and wont be continuing.
Trying to avoid spoilers! Something happened that person one got very angry about, but if they had stopped and thought about it from the point of view of person two then it would have made sense! That was a hard sentence to work out…
Person one’s inability to do this and what follows because of it just annoys me so much.

2 The False Prince – MORE

by Jennifer A. Nielsen

This was a slow starting book. I considered putting it down but there was just something about it…Then I reached chapter 42 and my mind was blown and I finished the book in such awe. It’s such a clever book, I can’t wait to read it again. Definately one to re-read once you’ve read it, to pick up on all the little bits! If you do this, you’ll see what I mean.

3 The List - MORE

by Siobhan Vivian

I expected this to be a 3 Voodoo story. Something Netgalley recommended me that sounded like it might be interesting. I may have even requested it for the sake of it. It surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. I loved how it took one situation and looked at it from 8 points of view. What was even more interesting was that not everyone reacted the way you’d have thought. 2 groups of 4 people in the same boat and no one reacted the same way. Makes you think about the words you use everyday and how they’re understood.

4 Bloodlines – LESS

by Richelle Mead

I’m thinking more of the whole series than the first book alone. While I enjoyed some parts of this series, I was so disappointed by it. I think I’ve mentioned this recently? But I’m happy to say it again. After Vampire Academy it was just such a let down. I’m tempted to get rid of them because they’re probably not going to be read again, but they’re such pretty books…

5 Fire and Thorns – MORE

by Rae Carson

This book surprised me. I reached the end and I’d really enjoyed it. I knew the series was going to exciting places and so I got the rest of the series and then…
I waited a few years because I had so many books…but when I finally got around to reading it again, it didn’t disappoint. I’d left it long enough that I remembered it was good, but that the finer points were a mystery once again. What’s more interesting to me was that I had a different view point on the marriage the second time around!

Caraval Salt to the Sea miss peregrines red queen vengeance rd

6 Caraval – MORE

by Stephanie Garber

I read this in January. Caraval had had so much hype and praise prior to its release that I was a little intimidated about reading it. But I was suprised that I loved it so much. I loved the atmosphere and the constant deception. Have you seen the different hardback covers available? Genius idea. I can’t wait to go buy a copy of my own and see which I get.

7 Salt to the Sea – MORE

by Ruta Sepetys

I’m not sure why I thought I wouldn’t like this story, I guess it had a few mixed reviews but all in all people seemed to love it. I definitely did. I haven’t read a historically based book in a while and it was refreshing to read about an event I had pretty much no knowledge of.

8 Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – LESS

by Ransom Riggs

I can’t believe how disappointed I was with this book. The cover and the concept was so appealing and yet, reading it was like swimming through treacle! Sooo sllllloooowwww! I regretfully pushed through all three books as I found the ending of this trilogy not really worth it.

9 Red Queen – LESS

by Victoria Aveyard

I wanted so much more from this book but really I found it too similar to other books in the YA fantasy genre. I think I’d overloaded on this kind of story only a month before and remember getting so angry with how predictable that made reading Red Queen.

10 Vengeance Road – MORE

by Erin Bowman

This was my first YA western based read and I loved every minute of it. It was really entertaining. I know there are quite a few books like this now but for me, as this was the first, it was new and exciting.
