It’s time for Musing Mondays, a meme from The Purple Booker!
Please note that Musing Monday has moved from Books and a Beat.
Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer and then supplies a random question:
- I’m currently reading…
- Up next I think I’ll read…
- I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
- I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
- I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
- I can’t wait to get a copy of…
- I wish I could read ___, but…
- I blogged about ____ this past week…
Up next I think I’ll read… The King of Rats by Melinda Salisbury
This is the novella that preceeds The Sin Eater’s Daughter series. I don’t usually read novellas because I find not many of them add anything to the main story but this one sounded like it would. Also I love this series so much I will pretty much read anything relating to it.
I’m also hoping to read The Scarecrow Queen directly after it.
LAST WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: Have you ever accidentally destroyed a book? Such as accidentally dropped it in the tub, or run it over with a bike? How about accidentally on purpose or simply purposefully?
Purposefully destroying books??? I’d love to say no to this but I do love an art project or two and have destroyed a couple of books in the name of art. I promise it was worth it and it did kill me to do it! Even when I’ve specifically picked up a scraggly looking copy from a charity shop.
Accidental destruction is another matter. I think everyone has accidently destroyed a book or two at some point even it they try their hardest not too. I try to avoid having books in the bathroom because I hate it when the pages go all wavey but water damage is probably still the claimer of the majority of my accidently destroyed books. I had to replace most of my Sookie Stackhouse collection because I had damp in my room and didn’t realise and they went all mouldy and smelt terrible! I have a couple of books with ring marks on them because certain other people don’t seem to understand that books are NOT coasters – but that’s not really my fault. And the only other damages I can think of is when Iput a book in my bag or on a seat and they end up getting bent – either just a few pages or worse… the cover!!! I hate that so much. I really need a book bag to go in my main bag.
