Musing Monday

pammusing
It’s time for Musing Mondays, a meme from The Purple Booker!

Please note that Musing Monday has moved from Books and a Beat.

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer and then supplies a random question:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…

I’m super excited to tell you…that I got my hands on a copy of Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor!

I absolutely love Laini Taylor’s writing. Her series, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, will always be one of my all time favourite series and I’ve been eagerly waiting to see what she would do next.

There are two different covers available:

yellow and blue Strange The Dreamer

I prefer the second cover (the blue with gold linier drawings) as I find the yellow a little harsh against the blue. What do you think?
I’m happy to say I got the cover I wanted and that it was a signed copy so I’m extra happy about that!

What books have you got recently? What was the last signed book you received?

We’re going to be a week behind each musing monday as we sadly can’t post on the day anymore but we’re loving the random questions and we will try and get round everyone’s posts when we can!

LAST WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: What was your favorite picture book as a kid?

princess and the goblin original

So the first book that came to mind was this one, The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald. My Grandad used to read it to my brother and I when we were little. It was definitely one of my favourites. I still have the above copy but I think when my little one arrives (in around 6 weeks…eeek) I may consider buying this copy…

The Princess and the Goblin

I have loved Hari and Deepti’s papercut art work for years and I’m so happy that they’ve done the artwork for one of my favourite children’s books. It means I may finally be able to own a piece of their work!!!

Here’s the google link to some more of their art! Beautiful aren’t they?
