Musing Monday

pammusing
It’s time for Musing Mondays, a meme from The Purple Booker!

Please note that Musing Monday has moved from Books and a Beat.

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer and then supplies a random question:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…
I’m currently reading…

Carry on by Rainbow Rowell. I’ve done really well on the April green books and my review are already extending into May, so I’m sort of cheating with the cover colour challenge and starting next month early! But we seem to be the only ones doing this challenge so no one will protest!

Carry On

We’re going to be a week behind each musing monday as we sadly can’t post on the day anymore but we’re loving the random questions and we will try and get round everyone’s posts when we can!

LAST WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: Do you have a favourite time of day to read?

Oooh. No, not really!
I tend to read in the evenings the most, but I don’t actually think that I LIKE it any more. I read them because it’s when I have the time, or it’s a ‘reward’ for doing things during the day. But I lose time and have to rush to bed and then I’m grumpy.

I used to work late shifts and I could get up anywhere from between 9 and 11 so reading at night was great! But now I’m up at 6 and reading late cuts into the all important sleep. When I don’t have to be anywhere I read at 6 and that’s quite fun, you get several hours in before anyone else is up! (and they can’t disturb you!)
That I like.
You don’t really feel like you’re losing time or anything. And then on days I don’t HAVE to do anything, I just keep reading…which can also be a problem.

I think after lunch is a good time to read. With a cup of tea, of course.
Generally you wont be sitting down to read in the middle of the afternoon if you have other things to do and you can read for several hours and still have plenty of time left in the day.

I love the feeling of losing myself in a book for hours on end and still having several hours before I have to get ready for bed when I surface again.
Makes me feel like I’ve got away with something!

When is YOUR favourite time to read?

      Hello!
I would definitely recommend finishing Harry Potter first if you haven’t before. Especially since Carry On is the fanfiction story from Fangirl which is of a Harry Potter spoof series. It’s actually pretty funny!

I hope your books turn up in the condition you’re happy with! I’m not sure I have the same definition of those terms as other people! (I can’t comment on your blog, because my wordpress account is seperate from wordpress apparently…)
