4 Roar - Read: 11th June 2017

This book seemed silly at first, but it was so different and so engrossing, by the end of it I had thoroughly enjoyed it.

Mulan set in Japan! This had an element to it I wasn’t quite expecting and I loved it!

This book for me came along at just the right time for me. I’d lost interest in reading and needed something fun and easy to reboot my reading drive. This was quirky enough to be interesting but with a familiarity to it that meant I didn’t have to work to hard at following the story

It’s been a while since I read a historical fiction and if this is what I can expect now then I really should read more of them! This had a perfect mix of characters that I fell in love with, which made the inevitable disaster even more difficult to handle. I was totally hooked from page one. Such a stunning story.

8 The Sleeping Prince and The Scarecrow Queen

I had to include both of these books because they were both amazing. I have absolutely loved every moment of this trilogy and would recommend it to any fantasy lover. It’s got a great mix of characters, a cruel streak that leaves you questioning everything and a wonderfully twisted plot.

9 Lola and the Boy Next Door

I like to break up the fantasy with some light contemporary and Stephanie Perkins’s writing is perfect for this. Lola and the Boy Next Door had all the usual Perkins’s charm and has rekindled my love for contemporary romance. I can’t wait to get stuck into Isla and the Happily Ever After

Lola Nolan is a budding costume designer, and for her, the more outrageous, sparkly, and fun the outfit, the better. And everything is pretty perfect in her life (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood. 10 Rebel of the Sands

I was really late to the party with this series but I’m so glad I finally made it! This series is so good! I love Amani. She’s such a strong lead character. I loved the setting. I haven’t read many gun slinging books but this western meets Arabian desert style book was perfect. I also loved the storyline. I wasn’t sure where it was going so I was on tenterhooks the whole time!
