Musing Monday

pammusing
It’s time for Musing Mondays, a meme from The Purple Booker!

Please note that Musing Monday has moved from Books and a Beat.

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer and then supplies a random question:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…
I’m currently reading….

THREE books at once!
I used to be a one-book-at-a-time reader. I’m easily confused with storylines so I always worried I’d get confused with two at once. I mean, I forget what was going on if I leave a book for two or more weeks so…it’s a reasonable fear.
I sort of just fell into two on the go, because I started listening to audio books in the car since I’ve been collecting them up and I spend so much time there these days it seemed sensible to use that time that way.
Then the other day I watched a youtube video on how to read with a busy schedule and I realised I could step it up further! So now I have a real book, an ebook AND an audio book on the go to cover every possible reading situation that arises. The ebook is a new addition so we’ll see how well I can keep up the three book situation…

We’re going to be a week behind each musing monday as we sadly can’t post on the day anymore but we’re loving the random questions and we will try and get round everyone’s posts when we can!

LAST WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: Are you able to read when you’re in pain or do you find it hard to focus?

My first reaction was HAHA no.
I suffer from migraines occasionally and when I have one building my mind slows down. I rarely let them build now, I usually take a painkiller or two as soon as I’m aware it’s not going away but even in that fuzzy state of almost-but-not-quite I find it hard to concentrate on anything but simple tasks and reading involves too much of the brain.
I also used to suffer from horrific period cramps and I’d class them up there with the migraines. More of a watching pain than a reading pain.
Sunburn though is something I can read through.
These are my most experienced pains and I can only answer from what I know…

What about you? Can you read through pain?
