Musing Monday

pammusing
It’s time for Musing Mondays, a meme from The Purple Booker!

Please note that Musing Monday has moved from Books and a Beat.

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer and then supplies a random question:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…
I’ve bought the following books in the past week:

I haven’t been buying books much since I got into book boxes properly. Too much possibility of ending up with duplicates. But recently I’ve been watching booktube and I’ve started buying books again…and I was doing so well!

We’re going to be a week behind each musing monday as we sadly can’t post on the day anymore but we’re loving the random questions and we will try and get round everyone’s posts when we can!

LAST WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: Do you ever wish you could go back and fall in love with reading all over again?

I have no idea when I fell in love with reading, books and audio books have always been a part of my world. I think I’ve always listened or read with a certain amount of continuity. I remember book sales at primary school, hanging out at the school library in secondary school, listening to audio books in the car with my family on holidays, going to the local library, bookshops and then finally finding amazon!
I think I read with more purpose now – firstly with the blog, but also I now own as many books I haven’t read as books I’ve read!  - so I don’t have and “this book series got me back into reading!” stories, though I have a horrible memory so maybe there has been a moment like that!

I think that we fall in love with reading again whenever we get over a reading slump, or we haven’t had the time to read and suddenly there’s three hours spare and a book in hand, or when we find a new favourite book or revisit an old favourite.
Is that cheesy? I don’t care.

When did you fall in love with reading?
