pammusing
It’s time for Musing Mondays, a meme from The Purple Booker!

Please note that Musing Monday has moved from Books and a Beat.

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer and then supplies a random question:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…
I can’t wait to get a copy of…

GODSGRAVE by Jay Kristoff. I subscribed to the Mark The Page Godsgrave box (there are still some available! Postage is a bit as it’s coming from Australia) and I’m so excited! But the book in there is a paperback…then the Waterstones special edition was reduced and I pre-ordered that too! I can’t wait, I loved Nevernight.

We’re going to be a week behind each musing monday as we sadly can’t post on the day anymore but we’re loving the random questions and we will try and get round everyone’s posts when we can!

LAST WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: Do you steer away from heavy emotional books?

I would say that I  do.
I’m a big HEA fan, I like to read about epic battles and saving worlds and happy endings.
I’m not so much a fan of contemporary books because they’re set in the real world and that can be pretty bad. I also don’t really tend to choose books that are all about being heavily emotional either. If I do happen to read an emotionally heavy book it’s either not been mentioned in the blurb or something else about it really attracted me to to story.
Sad endings are not something I enjoy at all and books about being sad are not something I’m likely to read.

Right now I’m listening to the audio book of Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon and I’m having a hard time with that! I really don’t think I’m going to get through all those books, the poor characters are having a bad time of it and I really don’t think it gets any better! Eventually I think their pain will be too much and I’ll have to stop.
