Musing Monday 25/09/17

pammusing
It’s time for Musing Mondays, a meme from The Purple Booker!

Please note that Musing Monday has moved from Books and a Beat.

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer and then supplies a random question:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…
I’m super excited (to tell you) about what Diana Gabaldon has said the end of the Outlander series!

Not that I’m excited about the series ending exactly,  but I’m between book 2 and 3 right now and I’m struggling with the heart break. POOR JAMIE! It’s going to get worse right? What more is to happen for there to be so many books?!
But anyway, the next one will be number 9 and Diana thinks that 10 will be the last.
And the very last thing in the very last book will be an explanation about ghost Jamie looking up at Claire’s window at the start of book one.
I didn’t realise we were going to get an explanation, I was sure I knew what it was about since half way through book two! Guess I’ll see!
But I LOVED the ghost Jamie part! I saw the first half of the show first, then realised I liked the story and read the book, so my interpretation of that scene is exactly as it is in the show and it’s just so well done.
I look forward to gaining more understanding about that moment.

We’re going to be a week behind each musing monday as we sadly can’t post on the day anymore but we’re loving the random questions and we will try and get round everyone’s posts when we can!
LAST WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: Do you like something playing in the background while reading?

Yes and no.
Haha, let me elaborate. I generally have background noise going on, my music library is on shuffle whenever I’m in my room. If I’m posting blog posts I’ve usually got some music playing too -watching something is too distracting, as is TV. If i’m concentrating on an important task I usually listen to scores without words, I guess the noise helps me focus.

Except when I’m reading. Sometimes I read in my room and my music is on and that’s fine, other times I need it to be quiet so I can concentrate solely on the book, this happens when I’m checking crochet patterns too. I guess I need the sound to focus and the quiet to process.

Do you like background noise when you read?
