Sum It Up Sunday – September 2017

pamsumitup

Sum it up Sunday is a feature post we are going to trial for the closing Sundays of each month. In these posts we’ll detail various things that have excited or upset us over that month.
If you’d like to join us in our summing up, please feel free! Just please, provide a link back to our blog. Thank you.

What are you reading right now?

Paein:
The Treatment by C.L. Taylor

Ms4Tune:
I’m still trying to read these two…
Solar Bones by Mike McCormack

I’ve given up on Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco for now…

My Friend Bear by Jez Alborough

What was your least favourite book this month?

Paein:
S.T.A.G.S by M A Bennett mostly because it was the only other book I’ve read!

STAGS

Ms4Tune:
The Fairy Caravan by Beatrix Potter – I finally finished this one too and unfortunately it wasn’t worth it.
Me and Cas were both rather bored while reading this, even with me doing a ridiculous number of voices.

What books are you hoping to collect next month?

Paein:
The Knowing by Sharon Cameron and the next Illustrated Harry Potter!

Ms4Tune:
A Special edition of The Language of Thorns from the Fairyloot Box :)

How are your challenges going?

Paein:
haha….got a grey book in though, almost!
I was impressed as it’s a pretty long audio book.
But I listened to it some at home not just in the car so that helped.
On to orange next month and I still have one book left of the uppercase reading challenge.

Ms4Tune:
I’m half way through the Uppercase reading challenge.
I have failed miserably at the colour challenge of late so really want to get back into it for October.

Anything you’re going to try and do more of next month?

Paein:
Actually read…

Ms4Tune:
Again read. Now that I’ve got those The Fairy Caravan out of the way I think I’ll start flying through some of Cassie’s other books.
And I may get a couple of mine in too! :P

Did you complete this month’s targets?

Paein:
Not really, I did not read 4 books. Nor did I get all my reviews up.
I gave up on a few older kindle book reviews and I even pushed back dates for many of the ones I did put up, I under anticipated how busy this month was going to be.

Ms4Tune:
I just about managed to finish a couple of books so yay! One down.
I didn’t manage to get a review up on the blog though. Maybe next month.

Any rants or raves?
Anything to boast about?

Paein:
I was sent a book to review! A physical book! I like physical books better because I find them more comfortable to read. I haven’t started it yet but I do hope to this afternoon. October is the time for spooky books and I’m hoping to read some. I have 3 on my list so I might not get to all of them this month but I can try!

Also I’m still annoyed that they changed Ravenclaw’s colours and crest for the films…

Ms4Tune:
I don’t think I really have anything… other than I’m excited that Fairyloot are doing two boxes in a row with two books!
I can’t wait. Must remember to buy a November box!
