Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This weeks topic is Top Ten Books That Have Been On Our TBR’s the Longest and We Still Haven’t Read

Ignoring the ones I’ve actually read and I’m just planning to be re-read here are my top 5! Oddly this is not the order they appeared in even though I told it to order by add date…?
1 The Way Of Shadows
by Brent Weeks
Added to Goodreads own-to-read 26th February 2011
I’ve just never got around toreading these, bit they survive every bookcase cull automatically because assassins! Maybe I’ll start them this year?
2 Jane Eyre
by Charlotte Brontë,
Added to Goodreads own-to-read 9th April 2011
This has been on there since 2011?! Definitely the year to read it!
3 Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
by Seth Grahame-Smith, Jane Austen
Added to Goodreads own-to-read 8th May 2011
I’ve finally read the original, I feel I am now free to read the adaption. Perhaps not too soon though as I watched the film again at the weekend….
4 Invincible
by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Added to Goodreads own-to-read 25th December 2012
Ahhhhh. So, this is number 2 of a sub/parallell/prequel/alternate reality series that is connected to/interwoven with her Dark-Hunters series and I was really getting lost with where they went in relation to all the others and I sort of stopped reading them all. I have attempted a re-read since then, because I REALLY want to read Styxx but I didn’t make it. So maybe next year I will dedicate several months to this entire collection…
5 The Sleeping Beauty
By Mercedes Lackey
Added to Goodreads own-to-read 3rd February 2014
I don’t know why I haven’t read this one! Not sure I’ve read the one before it either. I was waiting for it so I could re-read the series up to this one. Or am I confused and thinking about the one AFTER this? I don’t know, either way it’s definitely time to re-read this clever series.

Basically all of these I’ve wanted to read since I joined Goodreads in 2012 – or even before that… so as it’s been 6 years I really do think I should read them now!
6 The Lightning Thief
by Rick Riordan
Added on Goodreads March 2012 – Bought 2015
I think I fooled myself into thinking I had to wait till I had all of the series before I could read this… but now I have no excuse. I found the set at a book fair in 2015 and bought them all. Maybe 2018 is the year I should read them… especially as they would be perfect for Cas too.
7 The Host
by Stephanie Meyer
Added on Goodreads March 2012 – Bought pre-goodreads
When I finished Twilight I had Stephanie Meyer withdrawal so I bought The Host. I was worried that it wouldn’t be as good so I never got round to reading it. I did see the film though and I actually liked it so maybe I should give it a go… what do you guys think? Have you read it?
8 Sisters Red
by Jackson Pearce
Added on Goodreads March 2012 – Bought 2012
I actually meant to read this last year for our Red month of our Colour Challenge but we decided to redecorate at the same time and in the striping of the rooms I managed to misplace it. I really want to read this though. I do love a retelling and I’ve owned this books for so long now. I hear theres a whole series now.
9 The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
by Stieg Larsson
Added on Goodreads March 2012 – Bought pre-goodreads
This was such a big thing when I originally bought this. I don’t even think the series had been finished… but the size of the book really put me off! I’m not so afraid of big books now though.
10 City of Bones
by Cassandra Clare
Added on Goodreads March 2012 – Bought 2013
Another series I’ve always meant to read but never got round too. I even bought it as a set so I don’t even have an excuse like… I wanted to read it all in one go… lol. Maybe this year I’ll get round to it…
Definitely get to Jane Eyre! It’s one of my favorite books. ☺
I’ve had a copy of City of Bones since it first came out and it’s still sitting over there in a filing cabinet (yeah, I have a drawer in an old, broken filing cabinet at work where I stash my books). One day…
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!
The Percy Jackson books are so good, hope you enjoy them!

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is great though I do get what you mean by the size of it being intimidating. When I finally picked it up I ended up flying through it, and the same thing happened with the other books in the trilogy.
My TTT.
I really need to read Jane Eyre at one point. As for The Mortal Instruments, it`s my guilty pleasure. The series is definitely not worth the hype, but the plot is fast paced and it has some witty dialogue.
