Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This weeks topic is a Love Freebie (romances, swoons, OTP’s, kisses, sexy scenes etc) and we’ve chosen Our Ten Most Recent Romantic Couples
Paein
1 Simon and Blue
Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Ahhhh! They’re just freaking adorable.
They go to the same school but spend most of the book not knowing who the other is and they fall in love over email.
And they’re just so shy and awkward and they can’t stop smiling….
2 Ellery and Alice
The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert
How to describe this with no spoilers?
Not what I was expecting! Any of the twists at all…
3 Viv and Seth
Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu
I wasn’t bothered about their relationship to be honest. I didn’t feel like it was important to the plot but it also didn’t take away from it. Seth himself added things though.
He supported her and helped her and was willing to learn a few things and if that’s not a great foundation for a relationship, what is?!
4 Andy and Kerri
Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero
This isn’t quite spoiler free but that’s because I protest.
Just no.
Since I’ve read this book, I’ve thought on it more and my opinion of it has gone down further and further for this ‘relationship’ right here.
Kerri suffered trauma and Andy took advantage of that and that’s all kinds of wrong. I’m so annoyed because this could have been an amazing book and to top everything off it ends with this.
It’s not even a real spoiler either, it’s just something randomly thrown in at the end which somehow makes it worse.
5 Jude and Cardan
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
Ugh, spoiler free is hard.
I see a lot of potential in Cardan and Jude needs to get her act together.
That’s all you’re getting…
…
Ms4Tune
6 Mare and Cal
King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard
So I decided to pick up this series again and I am starting to remember why I put it down. Gosh how whingey and depressing is Mare?! Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get on with something! Anyway, get to the point… Mare and Cal… oh how I don’t understand these two as a couple. They have very little in common, see things completely differently and hardly interact, and we’re supposed to believe they love each other… hmmm I don’t think so. For me, these two fail to deliver a believable romance… if anything I find Maven’s obsession with Mare more emotionally developed… Anyone else agree?
7 Amani and Jin
Hero at the Fall by Alwyn Hamilton
I’m also currently reading this… and the only reason I haven’t devoured it all yet is because I love it so much I don’t want it to end. Amani and Jin have a great relationship. They’re not dependent on each other but they work together, they compliment each other if you get what I mean… This is what Mare and Cal should be… but Cal just isn’t as well developed as Jin and Amani has way bigger balls than Mare…
8 Asha and Torwin
The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli
I love a bit of forbidden love and Asha and Torwin had so many obsticules between them. I love it when the love is so forbidden that even a brush of skin is exciting! Great couple, great romance.
9 Dimple and Rishi
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
I loved these two. They were adorable. The only thing that let this romance down, for me, was the wobble Dimple has at the end but other than that a really cute believable romance.
10 Caro and Markos
Song of the Current by Sarah Tolscher
This was a really sweet hate to love romance that I adored! Everything Markos did irritated the hell out of Caro and Markos couldn’t figure out why she didn’t like him. Classic posh boy not getting why his charms don’t seem to work! Another successful coupling if you ask me.
I’ve given up on the Red Queen series, I couldn’t deal with Mare anymore! I love Amani and Jin though and I can’t wait to see how their story ends. A few of these books are on my TBR and I look forward to seeing these pairings!

I don’t know if Ellery and Alice are really a couple, but Hazelwood was an amazing book!
