Top Ten Tuesday: Books to Read By the Pool/At the Beach

pamstopten

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This weeks topic is Top Ten Books to Read By the Pool/At the Beach

a discvovery of witches children of blood and bone Hero at the Fall a court of thorns and roses star touched stories

I will be visiting neither of these places this summer, but here are some books I hope to get read!

1 A Discovery of Witches

by Deborah Harkness

I’ve been keeping this book series ‘for later’ for so many years, it’s certainly time for them to be read, especially as the show is coming out this Autumn!

2 Children of Blood and Bone

by Tomi Adeyemi

I bought his book quite recently and really look forward to reading it but I’ve yet to find the time! I hope to make time this summer

3 Hero at the Fall

by Alwyn Hamilton

Ahhh, I don’t want this series to end! But at the same time, I really want to read what happens next…time to bite the bullet?

4 A Court of Thorns and Roses series

by Sarah J. Maas

I need to finish this series, the summer seems the best time.

5 Star-Touched Stories

by Roshani Chokshi

Ahhhh, this book is so close!! I need it! I need to read these stories!!

I like to take a good mix of genres when I go on holiday (not that I’ve got a holiday planned this year… but lets pretend shall we).
So if I was going away here are the books I’d take and why…

6 Guards! Guards!

by Terry Pratchett

My ‘Humorous Fantasy’ fix.

I finally returned to the Discworld novels last month and remembered why I loved them so much.
Hopefully I’ll find time to read this one this summer and continue laughing out loud!

7 Circe

by Madeline Miller

My ‘Mythology’ fix.

I love a bit of mythology and I’ve heard only great things about this book.
I kept meaning to read her previous novel, The Song of Achilles, but never got round to it. Oh well, if I like this one maybe I’ll pick that one up afterwards.

8 Starry Eyes

by Jenn Bennett

My ‘Contemporary Romance’ fix.

So I read Night Owls last month and loved it so why wouldn’t I instantly by her new book Starry Eyes?
This is probably the book I’m most excited about reading over the summer.

9 The Great Alone

by Kristin Hannah

My ‘ Historical Fiction’ fix.

It’s been a while since I read a historical fiction but I’ve heard amazing things about Kristin Hannah and this particular book.
Again, I’ve not read her previous books but maybe after this I could read The Nightingale? I hear its being made into a film?!

10 A Conjuring of Light

by V E Schwab

My ‘YA Fantasy’ Fix.

If there’s one thing I know I will love, its this book. I’ve been putting it off because I don’t want it to end but I feel the time is right, now, and I will be delving back into this amazing world this year. (I’m hoping that Illumicrate will announce a special V E Schwab box soon. There’s been so many awesome special edition boxes this year but I need a V E Schwab one!)

“Starry Eyes” has been on my shelf for a while now, but it’s one I’m excited to read. Just have to make the time. :)

Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland – and I hope you enjoy these summer TBRs!
