Top Ten Tuesday: Books You’d Mash Together

pamstopten

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This weeks topic is Top Ten Books You’d Mash Together

parasol & stalking Jack the Ripper

1 The Parasol Protectorate by Gail Carriger &
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

Ah, what a blending of worlds! You can Just imagine Wadsworth and Cresswell stumbling into an investigation Alexia is working on and them just working together – after some friction, of course. But I think Wadsworth and Tarabotti would hit it off quite quickly much to Cresswells chagrin.

acheron&arrows of the queen

2 Dark-Hunters by Sherrilyn Kenyon &
Valdemar by Mercedes Lackey

Just Acheron, thrown in with the Heralds. Because he’d so be a Herald and I think that would be nice for him. But also he’s…who he is, so that would be good for them too.

percyjackson1&Narnia

3 Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan &
The Chronicles of Narnia by C S Lewis

I wonder what Percy and Annabeth would make of Narnia. I wonder what Narnia would make of them?!

the martian &city of bones

4 The Martian by Andy Weir &
The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

I’d quite enjoy Jace bantering with Mark on the surface of Mars. Not much else to say about this!

harry potter Ravenclaw &cinder

5 Harry Potter by J K Rowling &
Cinder by Marissa Meyer

I’ve chosen Harry Potter too, because it’s really hard not to, also this was the first mash up I thought of, I just imagined Hermione’s reaction to Cinder being a Cyborg Cinderella and it would just be so funny. Ron would have no idea what she was on about of course – being raised with wizard fairytales not muggle ones – and it would be left to Harry to explain because Hermione would be off looking for a cure.

wild Station Eleven proof.indd

6 Wild by Cheryl Strayed
& Station Eleven by Emily St John Mandel

Right, so imagine if Cheryl Strayed makes it back from the Wild to find that basically the whole world has been turned upside down by a terrible disaster that’s wiped out most of the population of the planet! Imagine her thinking what the hell happened?!!! What did I miss?! Obviously she’s been up on the Pacific Crest Trail trying to find out who she really is and learning to love herself again only to come back to nothing! Would it have been a waste of time? I would definitely like to find out… what a complete mind f*** though right?

REBEL OF THE SANDs Caraval

7 Rebel of the Sand by Alwyn Hamilton
& Caraval by Stephanie Garber

I would like to just take all the main characters from Rebel of the Sand and put them into Caraval. I can see Amani just shooting everyone for being so irritating!

The Obsession hollowland

8 The Obsession by Nora Roberts
& Hollowland by Amanda Hocking

There’s probably a better zombie book out there but I couldn’t think of any of the top of my head. Basically I just want to see the tiny sleep town in The Obsession get over run by zombies. The Obsession had a really creepy vibe to it anyway with a psychotic serial killer but I would love to see just a little more crazy thrown in to the mix.

lord of the rings 1984

9 Lord of the Rings by J R R Tolkien
& 1984 by George Orwell

My thinking behind this one was all to do with the eye! Ok so imagine big brother is actually the eye of sauron…dun dun deerrrrrrrr….  that is all…

harry potter 1 the next together

10 Harry Potter by JK Rowling
& The Next Together by Lauren James

Another weird combo I know but hear me out… we all know that Harry, Ron and Harmione are the best friendship in the world, now imagine that it was always fated for them to meet and defeat villains? What if they’ve been meeting over and over again all the way through time… sometimes they win, sometimes they lose…. sometimes Ron gets with Harry… sometimes Hermione’s the saviour of all… SO MANY ALTERNATIVES!
