Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This weeks topic is Top Ten Authors We’d Love to Meet
Paein
This week is all a complete lie, because given the option I never choose to meet people because conversations are baffling mysteries to me. (Unless I can meet them all at once, then they can talk amongst themselves and I can add something every now and then!) But IF I were to finally crack it, I would like to release my newfound social skills on these people:
1 Marissa Mayer
Author of: The Lunar Chronicles
I think this series is amazing and I still have so many questions. If I was able I’d love to have a nice chat over tea about this world!
2 Susan Dennard
Author of: The Witchlands Saga
From what I’ve picked up via Instagram, her writing process seems so involved and clever. To be honest I’d just love to watch her going through the process of setting up a new book and just seeing how her mind works and then discussing it with her.
3 Holly Black
Author of: The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, The Darkest Part of the Forest, The Cruel Prince
She seems quite jolly and fun. Also, I want to know if the rumours of The Coldest Girl #2 are possibly true!!!
4 J K Rowling
Author of: Harry Potter
I might have spent a good amount of the weekend watching Fantastic Beasts #2 trailers and breakdown videos etc, but she’s just an amazing person! So much of this world is still untold and I want to know it all!
5 Jane Austen
Author of: Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma.
A little more drastic than Ms4Tune’s number 5 (10) but we need to have a conversation about Mr Darcy.
Also, I really want to know how she’d feel about Pride and Prejudice and Zombies…

6 Melina Marchetta
Author of: On the Jellicoe Road, Saving Francesca etc
I have just finished listening to On The Jellicoe Road and I just want to meet her for a hug really. I cried so much, I feel a hug from her may help reduce the pain I feel for the characters. (Maybe)
7 Stephanie Garber
Author of: Caraval, Legendary
I read Caraval last year and loved it. I’m trying to read Legendary now (but I’m struggling to find time), but I follow her on Instagram and I just love her. I think we’d get on really well.
8 Jojo Moyes
Author of: Ship of Brides, Me Before You etc
Again. Ok so I already met Jojo Moyes. But I would love to meet her again, preferably with a list of things I want to talk to her about because I was so star struck I couldn’t think of anything to say! She is one of my all time favourite authors.
9 Neil Gaiman
Author of: American Gods, Stardust etc
I feel I’d probably be too starstruck to actually talk to him but I feel one day this still has to happen! He is a writing god.
10 Sir Terry Pratchett
Author of: THE DISCWORLD NOVELS!
And just because… if I could have met him then that would have been amazing. It would have had to be a tea and cakes affair don’t you agree?
Yes to all of these! Great picks!
