Top Ten Tuesday: Backlist Books We Want to Read

pamstopten

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This weeks topic is Top Ten Backlist Books We Want to Read

Paein

Oh no, I have so many books that could be on this list! I’m just gonna pick random ones!

the love interest plus one Walk on earth a stranger True Fire red rising

1 The Love Interest

by Cale Dietrich

This one sounded amazing, I loved the idea that they were sent after the same girl but fell for each other instead (Which is what I gather happens from the blurb and from wherever it is that I found this book) but many of the reviews weren’t the best and now I’m scared to read it in case I don’t like it!

2 Plus One

by Elizabeth Fama

I…might have bought this one for the cover…but I DO remember being really excited to read it! I’m not sure why I never did.

3 Walk on Earth a Stranger

by Rae Carson

I loved Rae’s The Girl of Fire and Thorns series and I was really excited to get this book as a gift! (Thank you Ms4Tune!) but then I ran into a snag. Generally I wait for all the books to be out before I start a series, but still…What if I don’t like this gift?! I’d feel bad…

4 True Fire

By Gary Meehan

It seems quite witchy. I love witchy books but I don’t know where to find the good ones. Is this a good one? I honestly don’t remember where this came from, but I know that I’d have wanted to read it when I got it.

5 Red Rising

by Pierce Brown

I think I got this from  one of those book boxes that send you older releases you might like. This sounded a little bit like Hunger Games and a little bit like a few others on my TBR. From what I understand it has a pretty big following too, which is a little intimidating! But I want to give this a go soon too!

Ms4Tune

OMG no idea how I’m gonna choose just 5. I have so many. I am a serial buyer but never reader!
OK I’m going to choose books on my To-Read-Sooner List as they are ones I really want to read but still haven’t found time for (as apposed to my your-next-mwhaha shelf – which are books I plan to read next, or my remind-me-to-read shelf – which are books I’d really like to read after I’ve read my To-Read-Sooner shelf lol)

crooked kingdom Strange The Dreamer Angelfall tiger lily fang girl

6 Crooked Kingdom

by Leigh Bardugo

I absolutely loved Six of Crows and pre-ordered book two as soon as it was available. For some reason I still haven’t read it and that makes me sad.

7 Strange the Dreamer

by Laini Taylor

I adore her work and yet some how haven’t made time for this beauty. Now book twos out and I really want to catch up and find out what all the fuss is about.

8 Angelfall

by Susan Ee

This series was everywhere at one time and I really wanted to know why. I bought the trilogy with a christmas voucher I had but never got round to picking them up. That was 5 years ago.

9 Tigerlily

by Jodi Lynn Anderson

OMG I bought this in 2012. 2012! that was 6 years ago! This TTT is torture. I knew I was bad at keeping up with my TBR pile but 6 years? EUGH! Anyway I really loved the sound of this book and it had some really amazing reviews. I feel it really is time I read this!

10 Fang Girl

by Helen Keeble

Right I owe Paein a massive apology right now as I insisted she hunt for this for me when she was on holiday in America… in 2012. :( I am such a bad person as she so kindly found and bought this for me and I still haven’t read it! I will definitely be reading this before the end of 2018!

I love, love, love your header!!!!!!

My two cents: The Love Interest might’ve been one of the worst books I’ve ever read and I strongly feel I should discourage you to pick it up. Honestly, no one should read that book. Crooked Kingdom on the other hand has one of the best opening lines in any fantasy book. I can’t believe it took me so long to read that series!!!!

I wrote about horror books this week. Come visit me :)

I’m really excited to read Red Rising too! I’ve been meaning to get to it for ages! Happy reading and I adore your voodoo doll pictures!
