Top Ten Tuesday: Favourite Books Released In the Last Ten Years

pamstopten

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This weeks topic is Top Ten Favourite Books Released In the Last Ten Years

In no particular order…including by date…

six of crows wind witch thunderhead heir of fire REBEL OF THE SANDs

1 Six of Crows (Six of Crows #1) 2015

by Leigh Bardugo

I listened to this as an audiobook as I’d previously given up on reading the actual book and it was AMAZING! Totally recommend the series, especially to listen to. I think I’d previously given up on reading it because I thought I was meant to know characters from the first series in here and I really didn’t, so I thought I’d better re-read the first series but I didn’t want to…turns out the characters from the first book are actually in the second book of this duology, and it’s obvious who they are if you’ve read the other ones but it’s not important.
I’m kind of putting off King of Scars though, because once I’ve read it I own no more!

2 Windwitch (Witchlands #2) 2017

by Susan Dennard

Bloodwitch should be here, but I still haven’t read Bloodwitch! I will need to soon or my re-read (Listen.) would have been pointless. But I’ve waited so long and now it’s mine, I’m nervous about it!
This series is amazing and though I often leave a series I like alone until they’re all out, I can’t do that with this one – even though it’s the length of a series I most often do that with!

3 Thunderhead (Arc of the Scythe #2) 2018

by Neal Shusterman

Ahhhh give me book 3!! This series is amazing!! Especially recommend the audiobooks. The Narrator is just magical.

4 Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) 2014

by Sarah J Maas

This book is the one that finally pulled me into the Throne of Glass series so deeply I’m not yet out (But that might also be because I’m still listening to book 5).
The only reason I persisted with the series, as I say every time, is because I that I knew it had the capacity to capture me despite the firs book not doing so because I’d read the Novellas long ago, before the first book was out. Which is why I recommend that you read them first!!!

5 Rebel of the Sands (Rebel of the Sands #1) 2016

by Alwyn Hamilton

Ahh I so want to find out what happens in this series, but I don’t want it to end! It’s very clever! You’ll need to read the first book twice!

Wow, is Six of Crows really four years old already? It feels like it just came out. :)

    My TTT.

Thunderhead was on my list, too! I’m still slowly fading into nonexistence the longer I have to wait for The Toll. I just finished the Rebel of the Sands series recently (Hero at the Fall) and OMG. It. Was. Brilliant. Ahhhh. Sad that it’s over, but the last book is so worth reading, and the way the ending was written was just perfect. I still need to read pretty much everything by Leigh Bardugo, though. Because I’m a slacker. xD Great choices!

    Here’s my TTT post.

THank you! I really want to listen to Thunderhead again, but I’m trying to hold off till October!
Oh gosh, that’s good to hear! I keep looking at them, glittering at me on my shelf haha.
I’m tempted to say go for Six of Crows right off, because the other series hasn’t aged well and going back might work better, but I’m not sure that would work so don’t take my word on it! But I do recommend Six of Crows.

I’d definitely recommend the audiobook if you get on with those at all!
