Top Ten Tuesday: Auto-Buy Authors

pamstopten

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This weeks topic is Top Ten Auto-Buy Authors

Paein

1 Renée Ahdieh

I loved The Wrath and the Dawn and I’m just….Well, I wasn’t sure about The Beautiful, but I’ve pre-ordered it, so…yeah. I love Renée Ahdieh’s writing, and I’ve loved vampires since I picked up the NightWorld books, so even though there’s an over abundance of vampires, I don’t think I’m going to care….

2 Marie Rutkoski

More books please?

3 Leigh Bardugo

This is also a new-to-this-list author. I was not sold on The Grisha Trilogy at all – or, is it called The Shadow and Bone trilogy now? Either way, meh. Then I read Six of Crows and I changed my mind!

4 Alwyn Hamilton

I haven’t finished Rebel of the Sands yet, true but I want all the books. If I don’t finish Hero at the Fall I still have a book to read!
I feel like I’ve said this before…

5 Sarah J Maas

Sarah is new to this list. even though I’ve had her books on my shelf for years – I’ve only just recently read them…

6 V E Schwab

Absolutely love this womans writing. Can’t get enough of it!

7 Gena Showalter

Her Lord’s of the Underworld series is one of my guilty pleasures and I can’t help but buy them as soon as they are released. I’m a few books behind now and to be honest they are getting really samey but I just can’t help hitting the pre-order button when I see one pop up!

8 Lucy Dillon

She has such a lovely sense of humour that comes through it her writing. Her books never fail to make me feel all warm and fuzzy and happy. I keep going back and reading Lost Dogs and Lonely Hearts. I’ve just leant it to my mother-in-law hopefully it will help her smile. She’s going through a rough time at the moment.

9 Stephanie Perkins

Another of my favourite contemporary writers. Her romances are so cute! I wasn’t sure about her teen horror though.

10 Kiersten White

Newish to me but I’m slowly collecting up her older works now and can’t wait to see what she writes next. And I Darken is one of my favourite.

Oh, lots of good choices here! Alwyn Hamilton made my list, too. :) *whispers* You want to finish Hero at the Fall. Trust meeee.

VE Schwab is a good one, too! I totally didn’t think of her.

    Here’s my TTT post.

Nice to see someone mention Lucy Dillon! I’ve only read her first two (second one didn’t have enough dog focus so she dropped in priority, though I did buy the third), but that first one was a total 5-star read for me and I keep meaning to continue.

And funny, that horror novel most of her fans seem to dislike is the only Stephanie Perkins book I’ve been able to finish. I can only conclude she wrote it in an effort to expand her readership, hoping the horror fans would dig her writing enough to stay for the love stories they didn’t think they wanted.

You’re making me so curious about VE Schwab’s work.

    My TTT.
