Once a year the West Bergholt NSPCC hold a book fair at Holmwood House School (Lexden, Colchester, UK).  Its open 9.30am – 4pm.

They sell books, games, jigsaws, CDs and DVDs and all proceeds go to the NSPCC.

Last year Paein and I found some amazing bargains, with most of the books marked as a £1 or less! I couldn’t believe some of the amazing brand new books we managed to pull out! The book fair fills the whole gym and cafeteria of Holmwood House. We’re talking tables upon tables of books and under the table are more boxes of books! It’s amazing. To anyone new to the book fair, I can only describe it as walking into wonderland! Be prepared to be wowed by what you can find. And you will want to go back on the second day because its completely different books, so brand new bargains.

Entry to the book fair is £1 for adults and free from children age 16 and under. But its totally worth it! You don’t need to bring a bag as you are given as many bags as you want on entry. So if you’re in the area come along! We will be there!!!
