Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2015

pamstopten

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish that other bloggers are welcome to join in, to create Top Ten lists on varying topics. Today it’s Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2015

Paein

1 Book Goal

To buy fewer books and to read some series I’ve been collecting. This will involve re-reading to catch up, I have no fewer than 10 series that fall under this category, with between 2 and 5 unread books in the series. Hopefully this will cut down on the spending. I’ll try and limit myself to only new release buying and series continuation this year, for the reviews, but also because I have two full bookcases of unreads. I do not need to buy more.

2 Book Resolution

I don’t like this one, but if the book has been sitting on myself for 3-5 years, unread and it doesn’t get read by the end of next year, I’ll consider giving it to charity. It may no longer be something I’ll enjoy reading, though I’ll still hate to give it away. I may add and books bought in 2015 that haven’t been read by 31st Dec 2015 too, but I don’t think I’ll stick to that bit,if any! I will also cull my kindle collection this year too. Too many loitering, unread freebies.

3 DVD Goal

Watch some of the boxsets that are sitting there! I recently acquired no more than 5 new collections and there are at least 3 others on my shelves waiting to be watched. I think it’s safe to say, I may be on my way to being a hoarder and this can’t be allowed to progress. Not only will I perform a Book Cull next December, but a DVD cull too.

4 Finances Resolution

My money disappears each month, next year I intend to note down every penny and attempt to understand it all and save up for a rainy day. There are some large purchases I will need to make next year, I need to stop being click happy and attempt to work out the numbers, which will be interesting.

5 Interest Goal

Make more time for my other hobbies!!! I want to improve at both my drawing and photography as well as get some more writing done as well as learning how to crochet! So no vegging about next year after work and wasting time, I will use it to full creative advantage and even develop new things to do with my time!
This one is likely to fail before I start, but hey, I can dream!

6  Book Resolution

To read every book I buy in 2015 (by the end of 2015… I promise this every year and still buy way to many books that end up sitting around un-read. This year I hope I can stick to this!

7 Book Resolution

To be more selective when downloading Amazon Freebies – I have a ridiculous number of books on my kindle. Mainly unread freebies and I suspect they will never be read. So this year I will only get the ones I intend to actually read!

8 Book Goal

To limit my purchases to 3 books a month – This is to help with Resolution 6 I will attempt to not buy any more than three books a month. This will hopefully reduce the amount I spend as well as make me consider my purchases! (This will not include freebies)

9 Baking Goal

I will aim to bake something (cake or otherwise) once a month. – I have purchased a very lovely Kenwood Mixer and therefore to make sure it doesn’t just sit in my cupboard, unused ALL YEAR!

10 Household Resolution

To keep on top of the House work – I am constantly complaining about the mess at home so this year I will try to dedicate 2 evenings a week to cleaning and one weekend day. If I’m likely to fail any of my resolutions it will be this one…

Great goals! I love the variety of goals and resolutions. The baking goal is cool and the finances one is very wise.

      Hi joyweesemoll,
Thanks! I think the variety will help us stick to a few of them at least :) As you may know, we love to bake here at Paein and Ms4Tune. And everyone should have a finance goal! You never know when you may need a rainy day fund! Hope you had some good goals and resolutions this year and all the best with sticking to them!
