Top Ten Tuesday: Books We Can’t Believe We Haven’t Read Yet In Fantasy and Young Adult books

pamstopten

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish that other bloggers are welcome to join in, to create Top Ten lists on varying topics. This week it’s Ten Books We Can’t Believe We Haven’t Read Yet In Fantasy and Young Adult Books

Paein

I’ve chosen fantasy as there are some big name books I want to be reading this year. If there are any not on my list that you think I should add, please let me know!

Adobe Photoshop PDF1 The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

by J.R.R. Tolkien

I tried reading this when I was at an age unable to deal with the writing style. I’d loved the audio book so much I wanted more. But sadly my dyslexia presented a problem. I’m hoping now, I’m better equipped. As my favourite genre is Fantasy, it’s a massive faux paux on my part not to have read it yet. I feel I may like The Lord of the Rings trilogy  more, while The Hobbit involves Hobbits and Dwarves, these involve elves! I do like elves. However, the Hobbit  must come first!

the colour of magic2 Discworld

By Terry Pratchett

Just….what have I been doing?! Again I think reading Discworld will be an epic adventure that needs some time and concentration that I may have been unable to give it before now. Here’s hoping I get to it soon!

The magicians apprentice3  The Magicians Apprentice

by Trudi Canavan

I loved the Black Magician Trilogy, I’m sort of scared to be jumping all around in case I loose what I loved. I just need to bite the bullet and take the jump. I can even re-read the original trilogy and live the love again!

tuck4 Tuck

by Stephen R. Lawhead

This is the last book in what I believe was a ‘historically correct’ Robin Hood retelling set in Wales. I really found them facinating and waited so long for book 3. When it came out I’d forgotten the other 2 and I’ve just never got round to a recap. Robin Hood is one of the stories I love, in most of it’s forms. I hope to get to reading this soon to see how it ends.

A game of Thrones5 A Game Of Thrones

By George R.R. Martin

I watched the first few episodes of the TV show before deciding that I wanted to read them first. Of course everything is far longer and complex in the books so I gave up before I got to the end of where I’d watched up to, bored of the recap. I’ve concluded that audio books might be the way to go, so I have the first one ready! But when will I listen to it? I just don’t know…

Ms4Tune

For the past three years I have been trying to read all the big Young Adult titles. There are so many amazing books out there and even though I have read over 150 titles in that time, there are still some big name young adult authors I have yet to read. So my list is not just books but YA AUTHORS that I have yet to get round to reading!

city of bones

6 Cassandra Clare

Yes people! I know this is shocking but I have not read anything by Cassandra Clare. I haven’t read her Mortal Instruments series or her Bane Chronicles or her Infernal Devices. Not a single page!

I don’t really have any reason for not having read her Mortal Instruments Series. I even have books 1-5. All I can say is there are on my soon to read reading list.

133350377 Veronica Roth

Yep, That’s right I haven’t read anything by Veronica Roth either! Like, Mortal Instruments, I have seen the film but not read the book, and again I own this book so I really don’t have any excuse as to why I still haven’t read this series.

As yet I haven’t got plans to read this one anytime soon. But I know Paein loved it and hopefully some day I will get round to it.

8poison study Maria V. Snyder

I missed out on this series when it first came out because it came out just as I discovered social activities such as that weird teenage obsession of sitting in a park talking about random pointless things. In other words you could say, life got in the way.

Now that I have time to appreciate down time and reading awesome things. I really want to read this series. Paein has always had high praise for Maria V Snyder and with the first in the spin-off series “Soulfinders” coming soon, I can’t think of a better time to start the Study trilogy.

9Graceling Kristen Cashore

When I first joined Goodreads in 2012 this book was everywhere! Again I actually went out and bought a paperback copy of Graceling and Paein bought be a copy of Fire but as Bitterblue was just out I thought I would wait for it to be in Paperback too and read them all together.

I still haven’t actually bought Bitterblue and as a result I still haven’t read anything by Kristen Cashore.

10rebel belle Rachel Hawkins

And finally, I will admit to not having read anything by Rachel Hawkins. I have heard amazing things about her Hex Hall Series but haven’t yet got round to picking it up.

I have Rebel Belle the first in her new series and I am really excited to read this soon!
