Stacking the shelves is a meme hosted by Tyngas Reviews. It’s a weekly haul meme designed for book lovers who need to share the enthusiasm for books that have been bought or borrowed and that you might not get around to review any time soon.

Recently I’ve acquired these lovely books. The entire series of The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson and Through Wolf’s Eyes by Jane Lindskold.

I’ve previously read the first book of The Girl of Fire and Thorns as an ebook and I always intended to read the rest. I decided more recently that if I were to have them in BOOK form, I was more likely to read them because I can see them sitting there, waiting…Also, I remember liking the book in the end and wanting to know what happened next so I figured they may just be shelf-room worthy.

It’s about a girl called Elisa. She’s a younger princess and also a chosen one. Once a century a person is chosen for greatness, born with a jewel in their navel to identify them. This chosen one however, has been pampered and sheltered, leading her to have done nothing of value. Her adventures start on her 16th birthday, when she is secretly married to a handsome king whose country is in turmoil. But he’s not the only one who wants a piece of her. So many people have demands for her and Elisa just hopes she wont die young, like so many other Chosen have.

I can’t wait to find out what she does with herself, as by the end of book 1 she’s come to see some of her own worth.

As to Through Wolf’s Eyes, I was recommended this by one of my favourite people. This is the story of a ‘lost princess’ who was raised by a pack of super smart wolves. She’s got to learn to be human in the worst place possible; a palace where, no doubt, more than one person wants her dead. This I bought because I thought it sounded really good and I want to read it soon, it’s easier to read it when you have it on the shelf!

I look forward to reading all these books and writing the reviews for you guys to read!
