NOTE: This is a review of the first few chapters. NOT the full book.

This may surprise some of you but this is my first taste of Sarah Dessen’s work, I know! Shocking right?! But I am more than happy to announce that I am well on my way to being a member of the Sarah Dessen fan club. This excerpt, small as it may be, has worked its magic and I am truly hooked!

This story has me soo intrigued. It promises family issues, self discovery and the need for change. I dislike Peyton already and can already feel a strong emotional connection to Sydney which is weird because this was literally only 3 chapters!

I have just ordered myself a copy of Saint Anything because I can honestly say I don’t think I can NOT read this!

Here’s the blurb so you can see what you think… but I promise you, Sarah Dessen writing is so beautiful that this is definitely one everyone should try!

Peyton, Sydney’s charismatic older brother, has always been the star of the family, receiving the lion’s share of their parents’ attention and—lately—concern. When Peyton’s increasingly reckless behavior culminates in an accident, a drunk driving conviction, and a jail sentence, Sydney is cast adrift, searching for her place in the family and the world. When everyone else is so worried about Peyton, is she the only one concerned about the victim of the accident?

Enter the Chathams, a warm, chaotic family who run a pizza parlor, play bluegrass on weekends, and pitch in to care for their mother, who has multiple sclerosis. Here Sydney experiences unquestioning acceptance. And here she meets Mac, gentle, watchful, and protective, who makes Sydney feel seen, really seen, for the first time.
