More than two thousand years ago, the healer Lochlann Doran was the first Fae to leave the Realm after the Sundering of the Fae and human worlds. After centuries of wandering the human world, seeking his SoulShare, he has spent all his magick, and lost all his hope.
Garrett Templar is the star pole dancer at Purgatory, the hottest gay nightclub in Washington, D.C. If his past hadn’t taught him the futility of hope, his present surely would; HIV-positive since age 18, his illness has suddenly and inexplicably mutated into drug-impervious AIDS.
A SoulShare bond with Garrett may give Lochlann back his magick, his gift of healing. But it also might kill him. And if he survives the return of his magick, the Marfach and its host are waiting to use the dancer as bait in a deadly trap. Only an impossible love can save them both.
And everyone knows Fae don’t love….

My review of #1 Hard as Stone can be found HERE and my review for #2 Gale Force, HERE.

With this book we get a lot more back story in the why and the how of the Sundering because Lochlann was there, which was exciting. Finally some answers! These characters had a little more back story too, because Cuinn and Lochlann had a past. As always however, there could have been more. More back story, more after, just more.

The Big Bad has begun to remind me of the one in J. R. Ward’s The Black Dagger Brotherhood series, despite the differences. Perhaps it’s the feel it has about it. Super duper evil and biding its time.

The game has changed in this one, their team has gained some good players, but they still aren’t enough to win, so what else do they need? Also discovered that there’s a 5th book and having read the blurb, discovered that something that happens in this one is gonna cause major issues later!!

The relationship in this book was a little like the one in Gale Force in that it was a tentative thing, being that Garrett was somewhat potent and a nice guy, not wanting to make anyone else sick and all that. But they made up for it in the end…

All the last players turn up too, being that Garrett works at Purgatory where all the others live and the fact they’re building a team to take down their foe. Next is Cuinn’s turn, which is exciting as we’ll get to see some more of the trouble he’s been mixed up in.
