I requested this book because I’ve read some of her Breeds series and I was under the impression I rather enjoyed them. When I Read this I had to check that it was indeed the same author and then I had to check the books that I own to compare because I was so confused. Turns out I didn’t enjoy the Breeds series as much as I first thought, but that my confusion wasn’t so misplaced. This was terribly written and I’m hoping it’s because it’s an un-corrected proof copy and that this will be at least semi-addressed in editing. The main issues I had were the contradictory sentences and the ones that were tripled in length with all the unnecessary descriptors.

I didn’t put down the book though, because I really wanted to find out what happened and how she was managing to hide. She’d been there two years before they decided to fully investigate her and she was hiding with hair dye and coloured contacts. Ok, you can look vastly different by doing this, but in this case, not different enough. Apart from this though, I was highly curious about whodunit and there was always the possibility that a lot of what was off was partly because this was book 2. I don’t think I’ll continue with this series despite it’s potential, but I might just go back an read the Breed series again, now that there are more of them.
