Today’s Make it Monday is brought to you from YOUTUBE and the talented Michelle Phan.

This item is made in her DIY Room Ideas For Unicorns video and is the first item at 0:27. It’s simple and looks amazing!

First you will need some toy stuffing, some LED lights, a paper lantern or two and a hot glue gun and glue sticks. I had the choice of large or small lanterns, different to the ones Michelle used, unfortunately, so I chose the small to start with at least.

I assembled the lantern, but then I had to unassemble it to get the light in – after adding the batteries of course – before reassembling it again. I had ordered some paper lantern lights, but they are yet to arrive and I’m impatient.

Once that was done it was simply a case of adding the stuffing with the glue gun. I’d recommend not making one in the middle of the day in bright sunlight, you need the light on inside the cloud to see where you want to put the fluff to make it cloudlike.

I started at the top and worked down, but while this wasn’t the worst way, it was certainly also not the best and for my next one I may lay it on it’s side and work around it. I found the best way to build it up was to separate sections on the lantern and add glue there and then more fluff as the glue refused to stick to the fluff already stuck down to build more fluff up. As always you need to add a small amount of glue and then a small amount of fluff right after this, the glue drys fast.

And just like that you have yourself a cloud light! Once I’ve worked out how to attach them to my fantastically high ceiling – while still being able to turn them on and off – I hope to make more.

I hope to also make the jar from this video soon! It looks like fun too. Have you any ideas for make it Mondays? Have you tried any yourself? Please let us know below!
