Two worlds
On the war-ravaged demon world of Eriis, Hellne, the fierce young queen, fights to keep her people alive, and to keep her son’s parentage a secret.
On the green and gentle human world of Mistra, the demons have faded into myth. Only a handful of old men and children still guard The Door between the worlds.
Bound by magic
Rhuun, the Prince of Eriis, uncovers a sultry book written by a human, sparking an obsession with the other world. When he is forced to flee Eriis, he must travel through The Door or pay the price in blood.
Divided by a door
The humans of Mistra are not what Rhuun was expecting—and one insufferable young woman in particular is about to find out that the demons of Eriis are not mythological after all . . .

I don’t like this cover. It’s not a member of the ‘cover love’ clan at all. Aside from that, it was brilliant! I loved it! The world building took some time and the jumping about with the time frame was a little annoying. We were learning things as we needed to know them – not always as they happened.

It was nice that we spent our time with the demons and saw how they perceived the humans – that was interesting. And even though it was slow going to start it wasn’t boring. It did get far more interesting when Rhuun got through The Door, but the story was horrifically cut short! (by this I mean it stopped, not that it was horrific – far from it!)

Surprisingly I rather liked Ilaan – I thought I’d hate him when we first met him. It was his sister I ended up not liking – Aelle. I know she was a product of her upbringing, but really girl!! Wet blankets are so stifling. How it will all work out is going to be fascinating.

I loved how Lelet saw Rhuun and while her understanding of his life may have been off – to him it was life, to her it wasn’t – she didn’t force him to her way of thinking. In fact she’s happy to watch and discover with him and it’s adorable. I want to be there to see it too, he’s spent so much time thinking so little of himself (I think that Ilaan would be shocked) and she thinks so much, that all he can do is grow into himself. She’s going to be so much better for him.

I look forward to seeing their relationship develop and to finding out what happens next! Will he speak with the author? Will the author remember? What’s his mother’s long game – it’s so hard to make her out and what will become of the Binder?!
