I’m back on the straight coconut oil. I have a few more recipes to maybe try, but none of the ones so far have been particularly good after a month or two of using them so stay tuned for those! I have to get up my nerve though, because the though of bicarbonate of soda is a little grating – no pun intended.

DIY Toothpaste 01/06/15

Yeah, no. Not even the one with the clay. Hate the clay.
Currently using the lush tooth tabs. They have a new formula (unfortunately! I miss the Chou Chou ones) and though they are still a bit bicarb-y for me, they’re much better than the home made toothpaste.You can use half a tab and that’s much more bearable.

Tie-dye Shoes

 I’ve made my brother a pair! They need some filling in still, though the colour has bled a little more since I took this picture. I’ve discovered that perhaps scribble lines work better than the dots – the dots leave behind some of their dots, I got lazy on one of the tongues and did scribble lines and I think it’s the best so far. I may just rehash this post out as a throwback later this year as there’s a third pair lined up too.

I’m making it a friend! Can you guess? Can you? Hufflepuff! Problem is, I know too many Hufflepuffs. I’d hoped to create myself a set, but this is going to be amazing and needs to be given to someone! (haha). I can see several more of these in my future. What’s the spell to duplicate??

Mum asked for a forest. It’s a work in progress, but she’ll get a forest. Then she’ll say she didn’t want quite that many and I will be amused.

Marshmallow fudge

I made a massive batch but the pan wasn’t quite big enough. It didn’t quite work. I’m going to have to re-melt it down and add some more chocolate to it I think. I was going for a lemon flavour.

Paper Rose
04/05/15

I made one out of song sheet paper for a musical friend. I even sprayed it with rose perfume! But not too close – don’t want soggy Roses. Of course, it wasn’t until after I’d done it that I found my original templates. Oh well.

Spiced Apple

Made a lot of this this Christmas. With slightly slightly more posh apple juice. The cloudy kind. I didn’t add sugar at first but felt it needed at least a little. Apparently helps amazingly with a sore throat. Good to know.

Boiled Fruit Cakes

I made the mini ones again this year. Though I rushed my first batch and it went wrong. (You really DO need to wait until the mix is cooled before you add the egg) What was left we ended up frying for breakfasts over the christmas time as a poor man’s Clootie Dumpling. Not as nice, but certainly a good use for it.
