Wow this is scary, my first official post.

I’m just about to sit down with a cup of tea, some twirl bites and this book, How I Live Now.

Here are a couple of reasons why I have decided to start reading this:

Firstly, as a member of quite a few goodreads groups I am constantly updated on group reads, advance copies for review and challenge reads, and one of my favourite groups at the moment, YA/NA Fanatics has set an October Monthly Theme Challenge To read a book that has a film or tv series based on it and I thought this was a good chance to get involved with a group activity.

Secondly, this weekend saw the launch of How I Live Now in the cinema. Now usually I watch the film first if I have the option, because I find most adaptations to be disappointing in comparison to the book but I thought this time I would chance it… lets hope I haven’t made the wrong decision…

And my third and finally reason… it’s October! October! Ok, I should explain the significance of this. For the last three years, I (and last year with Paein in tow) have attended the NSPCC book fair at Holmwood House in Colchester Essex, and every year I come home with bag fulls of cheap and amazing buys with that promise to read them all straight away, and yet, this book has sat on my shelf for a whole YEAR! So I think its time, to pick this up and see what Meg Rosoff has to offer.
