Musing Monday

pammusing
It’s time for Musing Mondays, a meme from Books and a Beat!

(Please note it has moved from A Daily Rhythm)

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer and then supplies a random question:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…
I’m currently reading …

Although I didn’t enjoy the first book in this series, I’m willing to give it another try. Have you read this series? Is it worth the risk of continuing? Also who else is excited about seeing the Tim Burton Adaptation (Out September!).

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: Name any 5 books from your “to be read” pile (even if it’s a “virtual” pile).

So I have a holiday coming up and as I’m sure you all do, I have started making a short list of the books I’d really like to read while I’m off. Here are the first five on that list :)

wild all the birds the short life of sparrows strong steel dark places

Wild by Cheryl Strayed and All The Birds In The Sky by Charlie Jane Anders are two books towards by Popsugar Challenge. I’ve heard great things about both so I’m quite excited to start reading them.

The Short Life of Sparrows by Emm Cole I got for free on Amazon a while ago and I was hoping to read it along with others in a goodreads group but I just never found the time to participate. But I liked the sound of this one and thought I would try and read it during my two weeks off.

I bought The Strongest Steel by Scarlett Cole after seeing a great review and this sex cover on an instagram account. Sadly I can’t remember who’s otherwise I’d share it. I’m hoping for a steamy romance!

I haven’t read anything by Gillian Flynn yet (I know absurd right!) but I really like the sound of this one so I hope I can squeeze Dark Places into my reading schedule too.

Have you read any of these? Should I prioritize any of them? What 5 books are on your list???

Hope you’re all enjoying your Bank Holiday Monday!

Can’t say I’ve read the series, though I do have a couple of books in my TBR pile somewhere.

I’ve seen some of the books in your TBR pile, but haven’t read them. Gillian Flynn’s books sound like something I would read. Must check her out.

Thanks for visiting The Book Connection.

I’ve seen All the Birds in the Sky before, but I never stopped to really see what it was about. Enjoy the books once you get to them. :-)
