Feature Posts

Make it Monday

Make it Monday is a Feature Post designed to showcase things we’ve made. Granted it’s not particularly bookish, but creativity is a fantastic outlet! In these posts there will be DIY items, beauty items, crafted items or even baked items, a lot of which will be pinterest pins we’re trying out. We hope you enjoy these posts, if you have any suggestions please feel free to leave a comment! And if you’d like to join in, please just link back to our blog. Thanks!

Musing Monday

This is one we’d like to start trialling in 2016 because all those Make it’s must get pretty boring. It may take us some time to work out what we fully want this post to contain, but for now we’re thinking it will simply contain our bookish musings.

Top Ten Tuesday

As it says at the start of every Top Ten “Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish that other bloggers are welcome to join in, to create Top Ten lists on varying topics.” we join in with their topics every week. I believe we’ve been doing it for over a year and a half now and I don’t think we’ll stop any time soon. They give us excuses to look up new books and to consider things we never would have had we not participated.

Waiting on Wednesday

We use these to gush about books we want in our hands RIGHT NOW. “Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly event originally hosted on Breaking The Spine.

Throwback Thursday

This one is a web wide phenomenon not just for book blogs. If it has a past it can have a throwback. For this one we either post an old review or recipe or write a new review for an old book. It’s a good way to draw attention to some old favourites or reminisce about childhood books.

First Impressions Friday

This is a new one we’re trying out right now. The perfect place to talk about any excerpts we’ve received or to talk about the book we’ve just started to read – sometimes those first impressions can change or you can forget how you felt at the start and this will help us remember.

Stack The Shelves Saturday

As these posts say “Stacking the shelves is a meme hosted by Tyngas Reviews. It’s a weekly haul meme designed for book lovers who need to share the enthusiasm for books that have been bought or borrowed that you’re terribly excited about or that you might not get around to review any time soon.” So basically another excuse to book brag! Not that we like to do that…

Sum It Up Sunday

Another new one we’re playing with. Our hope for this one is that we’ll write it as the month goes by and at the end we’ll have compiled a list of things we loved and didn’t love – to help us remember and to tell you a little more about us!

Second Chance Sunday

A new trial post, this one is for reviews of books/series/authors we’ve given a second chance to, OR for us to discuss which books/series/authors we’re thinking of giving a second chance to, why we think we didn’t match the first time and why we hope to match this time.

Book Stuff Sunday

We like stuff. We LOVE book stuff. Join us on these sundays where we’re just bursting with excitement as we show off our new book stuff! This could be themed items, or even book boxes, as long as it involves STUFF! Please link back to us if you too are a lover of showing off stuff, thank you.
