June 1812. Just weeks after her catastrophic coming-out ball, Lady Helen Wrexhall—now disowned by her uncle—is a full member of the demon-hunting Dark Days Club. Her mentor, Lord Carlston, has arranged for Helen to spend the summer season in Brighton so that he can train her new Reclaimer powers. However, the long-term effects of Carlston’s Reclaimer work have taken hold, and his sanity is beginning to slip. At the same time, Carlston’s Dark Days Club colleague and nemesis will stop at nothing to bring Helen over to his side—and the Duke of Selburn is determined to marry her. The stakes are even higher for Helen as she struggles to become the warrior that everyone expects her to be.

Well, here we are at the end of another Lady Helen adventure. Why must they end so quickly?! I wish for this series to be a a trilogy, but I’m thinking it’s going to be a quartet at the least. Unless the next mission is connected to the final one! (please be so.) It’s not that I want this to be over, but some things are hurting my heart and I feel they wont be resolved until the end, therefore the fast we get to the end the faster my heart can be all light and happy! I hope…

Let’s see, what to say about book 2?
Well, I loathe Lord Selburn with such a passion and I have no idea why Helen doesn’t too! He’s smugly cornered her into the end of the book and he’s not once obeyed her orders despite having GIVEN HIS WORD that he would – a very bad thing for a gentleman to break. She keeps attributing it to his protective nature but I know there’s something else at work here. There has to be. He’s bordering on improper and is definitely in the creepy section in life. Are we meant to dislike him this much? Or have I just taken unreasonable offence?

Mr Hammond has spent this entire book growing on me rather fantastically and I’m hoping this poor guy will end up with his own HEA, though I’m not sure how it would work.
Lady Margret by contrast is so supremely annoying that I find myself unable to care too much about her. If it wouldn’t upset Carlston, I’d hope her fate to be a grizzly end!

In this book we meet another Reclaimer. He’s different to those we’ve met before and we also meet the man in charge of the Dark Days Club. Here’s hoping they can win him over to their side!
This book seems to indicate that the Dark Days Club doesn’t quite know as much as it thinks it does, which is a problem for what is likely to be coming!
Hopefully the newest development will give them some more insight!

I’m looking forward to book 3 but I’m thinking that it’s only going to get worse. I hope that Selburn gets a shakeup in the next book. He’s far to arrogant and insubordinate and I desperately want to see him put in his place!
