Sum it up Sunday is a feature post we are going to trial for the closing Sundays of each month. In these posts we’ll detail various things that have excited or upset us over that month.
If you’d like to join us in our summing up, please feel free! Just please, provide a link back to our blog. Thank you.
What are you reading right now?
Paein:
Wintersong by S Jae-Jones
Ms4Tune:
Hoping to start Traitor To The Throne by Alwyn Hamilton soon.
What was your favourite book this month?
Paein:
A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi was good, but Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell was a surprise hit!
Ms4Tune:
I’ve only read one so The Scarecrow Queen by Melinda Salisbury
What was your least favourite book this month?
Paein:
Probably Outlaws of Sherwood by Robin McKinley, because I was expecting more, though rating wise it drew with City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare, but that was better than I expected
Ms4Tune:
As I only read one and it was pretty damn good, I don’t think I can say I have a least favourite book this month.
What do you want to read next?
Paein:
BLUE BOOKS! Er, Red Sister by Mark Lawrence I think…I have an ARC which is blue
Ms4Tune:
Erm maybe Darkmere by Helen Maslin
I’ve had it for ages and I bought it cos someone recommended it to me so I really should read it. Plus its Blue and Pink
What books are you hoping to collect next month?
Paein:
I pre-ordered Lord of Shadows! Not sure why. I think there was something about pre-ordering meant bonus content? But I don’t see anything about that now. I hate it when that happens, dammat.
Ms4Tune:
So my baby is due next month and I’ve ordered a few childrens books.
I already have quite a few but I plan to read to them alot but a few more can’t hurt.
I’ve ordered The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn and The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt – probably a bit old for a new born but they looked really good.
Any suggestions of other books to get?
How are your challenges going?
Paein:
I actually started May early because I ran out of green books. Yay for time off with good books! I read 4 green books and I was able to tick off 2 Uppercase books!
Ms4Tune:
I didn’t read any green books or any towards my Uppercase Book Challenge but
I’m now officially on Maternity Leave so fingers crossed I can get back on track…
Anything you’re going to try and do more of next month?
Paein:
Read some Netgalley content/review books. this is ridiculous, sorry guys.
Ms4Tune:
I stupidly requested more books on Netgalley so I really need to read those and build up some reviews…
cos I can see having a little one around is going to distract me even more than I am now.
Did you complete this month’s targets?
Paein:
Well I read!! rather well. Though behind on my reviews again. I have two to write so I’m on a reading bad, I don’t want them to build up….
Ms4Tune:
No, but never mind.
Any rants or raves?
Anything to boast about?
Paein:
My final My Bookish Crate hasn’t turned up yet. In fact I’ve heard nothing all month and I’m concerned. March was the last month but they were shipping mid April, so they said. I don’t like to hound people, but I need my book boxes! Speaking of which, I may have found some others to try out! So stay tuned…
Ms4Tune:
Very excited by the trailers for Everything Everything. I really want to go see it!
