It’s time for Musing Mondays, a meme from The Purple Booker!
Please note that Musing Monday has moved from Books and a Beat.
Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer and then supplies a random question:
- I’m currently reading…
- Up next I think I’ll read…
- I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
- I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
- I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
- I can’t wait to get a copy of…
- I wish I could read ___, but…
- I blogged about ____ this past week…
I’m really upset by…
the condition of the books that are coming from Amazon and other online retailers these days! Has anyone else noticed a decrease in the care given?
They’re not being damaged in transit, the packaging is undamaged which means that they’re being damaged in the warehouses.
It’s hard to say if it’s bad handling or I’m getting pickier. Though some have turned up slashed!
We’re going to be a week behind each musing monday as we sadly can’t post on the day anymore but we’re loving the random questions and we will try and get round everyone’s posts when we can!
LAST WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: What is your favourite spot to read during the summer?
I don’t really change my reading spot much and I don’t tend to read outside as I have both a sun allergy and a grass allergy! I do like to read on the balcony when on holiday in Spain. This s somewhere around the end of the summer and I’ve usually acclimatised to the sun by then so often I have my legs in it – not that I ever really tan!
Where do you like to read in the summer?
A slashed cover happened with us once recently too. I can’t stand to see that lack of regard for my reading material. Hope it gets better. Enjoy your week.

Yes! That’s what’s annoying me the most! The lack of regard! Thank you, haha.
Series release dates are getting exausting. Now I’m just planning on waiting for the end and collecting them all up as I re-read through. Because I WILL need to re-read!
I haven’t noticed any problems lately but then I haven’t been ordering books from Amazon, I’ve been ordering from Chapters in order to earn rewards points to increase the amount of free books I can get at Christmas. I have had problems with books from Amazon in the past though.

Well that’s sound’s interesting!
I also don’t follow release dates. I hadn’t even thought about series I’m following! I’m so behind…
Wow, I have never received a slashed cover from Amazon themselves. I have when I purchased a used copy from another seller. Usually if something like this happens Amazon will refund you or send you a new copy, if it that they were the seller. I do not think it is ever their intention to give a bad product. It would make me infuriated though if that happened to me as well. Hope you get it resolved with them though because they should not sell you books that are slashed up.
Hello! They did send me replacements, it’s true. However the replacements were just as battered! I ended up with 4 copies of the same book and I’ve ended up sending them all back because they were all battered.
