Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books On My TBR For Summer 2015

pamstopten

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish that other bloggers are welcome to join in, to create Top Ten lists on varying topics. This week it’s Top Ten Books On My TBR For Summer 2015

Paein

My summer is dedicated to reading the most interesting of my read it or lose it collection, the ones I don’t want to lose! So I’ve listed some of them here:

the final empire the knife of never letting go heart of the mirage defiance partials

1 The Final Empire (Mistborn #1)

by Brandon Sanderson

I have no excuse. I have no idea why I didn’t pick these up as soon as I found them, perhaps I was saving them? Anyway, they will be read this summer and I cant wait!

2 The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking #1)

by Patrick Ness

Have you read the blurb? It sounds positively mysterious! I have no idea why I haven’t read this yet, probably just because I haven’t got around to it. I’m happy it’s on my read it or lose it list so that I can actually get around to reading it.

3 Heart of the Mirage (Mirage Makers #1)

by Glenda Larke

I can’t recall if I got this before or after the Watergivers series. I really enjoyed the start of that but fond the mid to end ridiculous, so I’m a little scared to start this one in case it also has a silly end. But it’s time on my shelves is running to a close and it’s time to read it.

4 Defiance (Defiance #1)

by C.J. Redwine

“A rich postapocalyptic YA fantasy perfect for fans of Graceling and Tamora Pierce.” ? I’m all over that! I can only assume I never read this because I was waiting for the series to complete and for me to have the whole thing in my possession. But I’m good and I don’t do that sort of thing anymore…so I need to read this soon and find out what happens.

5 Partials (Partials Sequence #1)

by Dan Wells

Another that I think I intended to collect before reading. Which I wont do…so I need to read it pronto! A Dystopian story where the main character sets out to find out whats up may not sound so different but often they are unaware too much is up until something happens and this doesn’t seem to be like that. I cant wait to find out exactly what’s going on.

Emmy and Oliver  huntress  Saint Anything  Damage Done  Ember in the Ashes

6 Emmy and Oliver

by Robin Benway

Had this one for a while now from Netgalley but should be reading this very soon. I love a story about love and friendship and it’s had some very positive reviews.

7 Hidden Huntress (The Malediction Trilogy #2)

by Danielle L Jensen

So excited for the next instalment of the Malediction Trilogy. I loved the whole Trolls and underground city concept. I hope it’s as good as book one!

8 Saint Anything

by Sarah Dessen

I’ve heard that Sarah Dessen is a must read author. And as yet I’ve not got my hands on any of her books to find out why she’s so popular. But I ordered this a few weeks ago… fingers crossed I’ll love her writing too.

9 Damage Done

by Amanda Panitch

Another of my Netgalley copies. This sounds intriguing, how can 22 minutes totally change your life…? Well I hope to find out :)

10 An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes #1)

by Sabaa Tahir

This is probably the one I’m most excited about! A Roman Epic Fantasy?! I’M IN!

Haha I will take this under advisement, thanks Lauren! I’ll make it my first book after the end of the term.
Love your topic change and those gifs! Sorry, I cant comment on your blog post. For some reason my account is no longer connected to wordpress because reasons.

It’s strange how books that really appeal to us get put aside for months or years sometimes before being read. I have a theory that we finally pick them up when we most need them, because I’ve had that happen with a few books. Also ‘An Ember in the Ashes’ is so good, one of the best books I’ve read this year! I hope you enjoy them all!

    1. Paein

I don’t disagree with you! But I think in this case my tastes have changed in the past 4 years and I’m a little concerned it will mean I mark books down :/ But if I hold on to them any longer I don’t think I’ll like them at all. There are some though that I think I’m going to love ( :

  2. Emma

I just received Emmy & Oliver and I’m so excited to read it!!!! I love the cover of Defiance, it’s making me want to check it out! Hope you get to read some of these :-) Here’s my TTT if you would like to check it out :-) Have a great day! :-)

Yay! Congratulations, I hope it’s good. I’ve heard so many positive things. I have 3 other ARC I really need to read before I can get to Emmy and Oliver :(

I’ve read THE KNIFE OF NEVER LETTING GO a while back and really loved it. I’m sure you’ll love it too! I also want to read Dessen’s SAINT ANYTHING. Anything by her is always great! Fantastic list!

Happy reading! Check out my Top Ten Tuesday!

I’m glad to hear Sarah Dessen’s good as I bought another 3 of her books in the charity shop :S Really should learn to read at least one book by an Author before jumping in. Oh well. I hope you get round to Saint Anything soon.

    2. Paein

I remember being excited when I found it but I just never read it…
Paper towns! I really want to read that before the film comes out, I saw a trailer the other day. I was sure I had a copy but it wasn’t even on my goodreads list so I got an e-book to read asap ( :

  4. Susan (Bloggin' 'bout Books)

Nice list! I love the Chaos Walking series. It’s unique and just really, really good. Also, the Mistborn books. Love the world Sanderson created in them. I wasn’t as wild about the Partials series. It’s just okay, although I love Dan Wells’ other books. I also want to get around to SAINT ANYTHING sometime soon.

    Happy TTT!

Aww everyone is loving these books I just cant wait!

  5. Veronika

I can’t wait to read Emmy & Oliver, it sounds so emotional and amazing, also the positive reviews are helping me to want to pick it up. I can’t wait for Saint Anything! I’ve read five books by Dessen so far and loved all but one, which was sadly her latest book, The Moon and More. Anyway, I heard that this novel is more amazing than that was.
    Lovely list! :)

    1. Ms4Tune

Hi Veronika, I know what you mean about Emmy and Oliver, it does sound really cute! I was luck enough to get a sneak peek of Saint Anything a while back. And I’ve been dying to get back into it ever since. That’s the some total of my Dessen experience so far. I hope to read some of her other work too, but I will leave The Moon and More till last just in case. I don’t want to spoil it. :) Thanks for stopping by

  6. Christy @ TheReaderBee

I’ve had The Partials on my tbr for a really long time now. I need to read it! I’m starting Emmy & Oliver this week, and I’m super excited! Great list!

    1. Ms4Tune

Gah so jealous you get to start it so soon! I have 3 more ARCs between me and it lol. I hope it’s worth the wait! Happy Reading!

  7. Zezee

I’d love to try a Brandon Sanderson novel just to experience it. I hear they’re wonderful.

    1. Paein

I hear they’re good too. I have a friend whose read these ones so I have his assessment too. They should be fascinating! If you stick around I hopefully will get to it in the next month or two and I can let you know what I think!

  8. Rhoda K

I really want to read The Final Empire too, I’m loving his Stormlight Archive series! Also really keen to get reading An Ember In The Ashes, have heard so many good things about it! Happy reading. x

    1. Ms4Tune

I know what you mean! An Ember in the Ashes is everywhere at the moment. I want to read it right now! Hope you get your hands on it soon. Happy Reading!

    2. Paein

I haven’t read anything of his yet. When an author has so many good series it’s hard to know where to start. I’ll add that series to the list too. I’ve put my name down to borrow An Ember in Ashes after Ms4Tune has finished. Happy reading to you too!

  9. amyh90

Great post! There’s some fantastic books on here! I can’t wait to read them, I’ve now got more for my tbr list lol.
    Have a great day,
    Amy x
