Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish that other bloggers are welcome to join in, to create Top Ten lists on varying topics. This week it’s Top Ten Characters Who Would Make Great Leaders.
Paein
1 Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter by JK Rowling to lead…
…an investigative expedition.
It makes sense! She’s interested in all these creatures than many others don’t believe exist and of course she marries the grandson of Newt Scamander, so it’s really in the family! I love her sense of humour and she’s so fascinating. I’d follow her into weird places to find new creatures.
2 Mia from Nevernight by Jay Kristoff to lead…
…a rescue mission.
An assassin on a rescue mission? Sounds crazy! But when you’re going into dark places with uncertain outcomes, a person with her particular skill set is exactly the person you want leading you.
3 Magnus Bane from Cassandra Clare’s books to lead…
…a battle of wits!
I was going to say a party, but I’m not one for parties. Instead I want him to lead a battle of wits. Firstly he’s hilarious, secondly he’s hilarious. Also, he’s got some pretty good practice and a lot of experience. I’d be sitting back and enjoying the burn!
4 Cinder from the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer to lead…
…an escape.
Let’s be honest, she’s pretty damn good at them!
5 Kestrel from The Winners Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski to lead…
…a war.
She’s the daughter of a general and she’s got one sharp mind. She learned a lot and I’d certainly like to have her leading my army.

6 Nina from The Little Shop of Happily Ever After by Jenny Colgan to lead…
… A Book Club
Nina started a mobile library in the Scottish Highlands so I feel she is perfectly set to start and successfully lead a book club (in the Highlands anyway..)
7 Caroline from Songs of the Current by Sarah Tolcser to lead…
… A Sailing Class
Seriously this girl grew up on a barge and yet somehow can sail a ship straight away. Not an easy feat considering how different the mechanics of each are and that one sails on a confined river system and the other on open water… Clever girl, thats definitely a talent that needs to be shared! (I may be being a bit sarcastic here – but I’d like to add, it was a good book)
8 Andy from Lola and the Boy Next Door to lead…
…a Cookery Class
I loved the scene where he roped Lola and Cricket into helping bake a huge number of pies. It seemed so easy and fun and I would love to join in!
9 Hermione from Harry Potter by JK Rowling to lead…
… A Research Team
I can never get over how much Hermione reads… Like I read a lot but I’ve never read huge manuals and history books for fun. This girl could easily find anything if you gave her access to the information. I could imagine we could research anything and find the answers with her at the helm.
10 Jesper from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo to lead…
… A team in a shooting competition
Cos he has the quickest draw! Why else?
It’s fun to think about book characters as leaders!

Oh I love your list and the specification of what exactly they should lead. I loved The Little Shop of Happily Ever After and wish there were more good books about people loving books.
I completely agree with Cinder.
Luna and Hermione made my list, too! So many Harry Potter characters would make great leaders.
I love how you fitted each leadership role to the character, very cool!

YES, YES, YES. I completely agree. Kestrel, Cinder, and Hermione would all be absolutely amazing leaders. Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous post! <3
