I made these for the same person I made the baubles for.

And it was another Pinterest discovery:

I already had some wooden rectangles so I chose to use them instead of squarer canvases, and I used tester paint pots from B&Q. I did buy paint to mix colours to give each turtle his own colour, but in the end I went with the original cartoon look, they were all the same colour. I would recommend painting the edges first before each side. And I used two coats to get a nice even colour.

I did intend to do the bandanna’s with an oil pastel like it seems they’ve done there in the original, but the ones I ordered took too long so I used more paint testers.I painted them on with an odd sponge on a stick type brush that came in my set and they also had two coats, I couldn’t get quite the same effect and having tried to do a zig zag I ended up just doing X type strokes over the top of each other and it worked rather well I thought. Once that was dry I drew and eye shape and cut out two, then I placed them and drew around them before painting them in, in white.

I’m really happy with how they came out and I hope they’re as well received as the baubles. In the end, I left them loose so that he could chose his own hanging order.
