Stacking the shelves is a meme hosted by Tyngas Reviews. It’s a weekly haul meme designed for book lovers who need to share the enthusiasm for books that have been bought or borrowed and that you might not get around to review any time soon. This is our first time joining in and while we dont think it will be a weekly occurrence, hopefully it will be a success and we’ll have regular posts perhaps once or twice a month. This first one is a joint post, but future one may be created by only one of us.

These two I got as kindle books, I had some coupons and they sounded good. I’m still undecided on kindle books, free ones are different but when I’m paying £3 or so, I like to actually have a book in my hands. Coupons are a good compromise.

I pre-ordered this one this week as I didn’t get accepted to read it via netgalley. I’m so happy she’s writing the further adventures of Valek and Yelena (AKA book 4)

These two turned up this week. I bought Lorraine’s book because it was the only one of hers I didnt own. I was originally reluctant to buy it due to the word “lighter” but through the “Look Inside!” function amazon has, I was able to determine that though it didnt quite mean the same as the new River Cottage book I’m saving for, it said on the ingredients page that she used sugar and had replaced butter with yoghurt, which is acceptable, as long as it’s not that bad-for-you low fat stuff. Unfortunately she doesnt replace flour with almond or coconut flour, but with some experimenting I can always do that for myself. And I bought Dark Beginnings because I intend to read the series soon (And I found it on amazon for the same price as one of the novellas as a kindle book)

Well as expected I have already failed one of our New Years Resolutions/Goals… Number 8 (to limited my book buying to 3 books a month). I am totally blaming this on Amazon as these beauties were all bought in the Amazon-12-Days-of-Christmas-Kindle-Sale. All of these were 99p except for Perfect Chemistry which was £1.49 and To Walk The Night which was a bargain at 39p!

Well, I will just have to stick to Resolution 6 – to read all the books I buy this year.

I also got a belated Secret Santa present which included these two lovelies…
