This could have been a disastrous repeat of Saturdays post, however Netgalley came through and several of my requests were accepted all at once.
1 A Curse of Ash and Iron
by Christine Norris
This one is from Netgalley And I’m hopefully reading it next, there are two others on my list, but this one will be archived sooner so I need to read it first. It’s sort of steampunk and just sounds wonderful.
2 The Hidden Princess
by Cara Coe
This one was recommended to me by amazon, or kindle, which is the same thing. It sounds thoroughly intruding and it has a pretty cover! It’s also, the only one not from Netgalley…
3 The Golden Braid
by Melanie Dickerson
Another Netgalley book. Just discovered though, that this is number 6 in a series! Hopefully it’s a semi standalone sort of thing. number SIX! This one is about Rapunzel, could you tell?
4 Twelve Kings
by Bradley P. Beaulieu
Yet again, Netgalley. Will you look at that cover! That’s what made me click on it you know, it looked like a good fantasy adventure. I guess I’ll find out!
5 Steelheart
by Brandon Sanderson
The last from Netgalley. I’ve yet to read any of Brandon’s work, though I own some of them already. This sounds just as compelling as all the others and I can’t wait to start it!
Ms4Tune
6 Ink and Bone : The Great Library
by Rachel Caine
I pre-ordered this back in February of this year and it literally fell into my hands Monday (yesterday) morning. I can’t wait to read this. Knowledge is always power!
7 Hidden Huntress
by Danielle L Jensen
I have had my sights set on this sequel ever since I read book one. I loved Stolen Songbird so much. Trollus (the city under the mountain) and all the Trolls were so well developed. Fingers crossed book 2 holds the same magical properties.
8 Devoted
by Jennifer Mathieu
This isn’t my usual type of book but there was something about that cover and the blurb that has me intrigued. I hope that it handles the religious side of the story respectfully whilst still being open minded. I do hate it when other peoples beliefs are not considered and just bashed in an attempt to prove a point.
9 An Ember in the Ashes
by Sabaa Tahir
This is easily one of the most talked about books of 2015 and I just couldn’t resist any longer. This had to be mine!
10 Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell
by Susanna Clarke
I really should learn to check the page counter before buying some books. I have seen good reviews of both the book and the tv series so I thought Why Not?! But when it arrived I was a little surprised by the sizable tombstone I had received. I may need a good week or so to read this at 1,024 pages.
This is an awesome collection of books! I hope you both enjoy them! I loved An Ember in the Ashes, such a good book! And I’m about to start Ink & Bone too, I’m really excited about it. I have Stolen Songbird on my kindle and keep meaning to get to it, but I’m even more eager to now that the sequel has come around. I love being able to go straight from book to book in a series. Very intrigued by A Curse of Ash and Iron, I think that one is going on my to read pile… And also ‘The Golden Braid’. I saw it go up on Netgalley and keep almost requesting it. but then holding back. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it!
I love going from book to book, which is an issue when you haven’t read any of them and you collect them all… :/
I’m hoping golden braid is good, hopefully will find out in a week or two!
I’m eager to get my hands on Ink & Bone. Everyone’s been recommending it to me lately and it just sounds good! I also just need to get my stuff together and pick up a Brandon Sanderson book already. Great haul girls. Happy reading!
I got a Brandon Sanderson book on my list this week as well. I so eager to dive in. Happy readings

Ooh! I really hope you enjoy these books. The last one indeed, is intimidating. My sister has read it but I don’t think it appeals to me just because of the size! Ha!
I’m so so SO excited for Ink and Bone, it sounds awesome and I enjoyed Morganville Vampires a lot. I was hesitant to get Devoted because of the religious aspect but read a very positive review of it that made me order it instantly. Also, The Truth About Alice was very good, especially for a debut novel, you should pick it up if you haven’t yet.
Hope you’ll both enjoy your new books.
I knew I recognised the name Rachel Caine from somewhere but I couldn’t remember where! I’m going to fast track Ink and Bone now! The reviews definitely helped make my mind up about Devoted too. It will definitely be an interesting read, and again, I’m ashamed to say I also didn’t know she’d written The Truth about Alice, but, if I like Devoted I will definitely try that one next.
Thanks for stopping by and enlightening me!
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is one of my favorite books (and worth every page). Once the story gets going, you realize that every page was important
These all look pretty good. I have been wanting to read both An Ember in the Ashes and Ink and Bone as well.
Happy reading!

Hi Rebekah, Thanks for the words of encouragement. I will definitely try and read it soon. (But it’s still daunting lol). An Ember in the Ashes and Ink and Bone are definitely making a quick jump to the top of my reading list, as everyone seems to love them! Thanks for stopping by!
I’ve heard such great things about Brandon Sanderson. I hope to try one of his books soon.
Hi Zezee, I’ve just finished Steelheart and can now say that Brandon Sanderson’s books are definitely worth a try! I really enjoyed it. I now can’t wait to get stuck into his other books!
I was going to wait until I get to the books he wrote for the Wheel of Time series to try his writing but I try one of his own series when I take myself off my buying ban. Who knows when I’ll complete the WoT series or if I ever will.
oow I have the first book of the Wheel of Time series on my TBR list but there’s so many of them I was a little scared to start it! Is the series good though?
Umm…it depends. I like the story but not so much the execution because Jordan is so wordy sometimes. But the story is def interesting. He mixes in elements of Christianity and some mythology in it and I love that.
